In this video I show you how sharp the Nikon Macro lens is. I take a walk and explore a local woodland to find macro compositions and to see if I can adopt this woodland for future woodland photography through the seasons. I would class the lens as a budget buy but it's quality is far from budget. I hope you enjoy the video.

I found this lens about 3 weeks ago used and in good condition. The image quality is so good it reminds me of a Z-lens. I compared it in the camera shop to my 50mm mc z-lens and I thought it look better to my eye so a traded to 50mm in for this lens. I have been very happy. I had the 60mm d-lens years ago and loved that lens. I stupidly traded it in years ago. I had been looking for another 60mm for a few years. It is all that you says regarding punching in well above its price level. I got it for $100 plus my 50mm trade-in.

Hi Nathaniel, That sounds like a good trade in deal. I am planning to use this lens a lot more especially in the up and coming autumn woodland. Thank you for watching.

I hate when people litter.I have a Nat Park about 8 miles from my house & it sits at the entrance to NY Harbor/ & Sandy Hook Bay. Tons of garbage wash up on the bayside shore. Probably swept into the water by wind plus currents & tides. Also, some people just leave it there because it is a carry in, carry out policy at the park & they don't want to put their days trash in their new vehicles. Really pisses me off. Anyway, some nice photos. I use the Nikon D810 & the MC 105G lens. Sometimes I think about getting a wider macro or extension tubes for the 105 plus a macro rail. You should get that cracked viewfinder replaced. Happy shooting.

Hi Thomas, Littering is just not acceptable. As I walk through the countryside I see a growing number of dog poo bags just left on the side of footpaths. Do people think that these will get collected. Strange that people can make the effort the pack up the poo into bags, tie them up, but cannot quite manage to dispose of them into the correct bin. It makes my blood boil. Thank you for watching.

@@craig.yates_photography4907 See that at the park mentioned also. The path is a heavily used paved path maintained by park maintenance & thank you that it gets picked up. One thing is there is a steady support of volunteers who do cleanups & get rewarded with a lunch. They usually don’t do some of the heavier littered areas along the bay. Park picks where they go. Probably because of a heavy tick population & some really mean poison ivy in the park, the areas they pick are limited. Thanks for relying, happy shooting.

Hi Craig. Why do people feel they can leave rubbish in a beautiful location? 😡 It really winds me up, I've seen loads around the Peak District, the worst being up on Bamford Edge where someone had smashed a load of bottles and dumped them in a gap in the rocks then left the bag that they'd obviously carried them up with just stuffed in the same gap! Anyway rant over. I love the fly image and prefer the uncropped version. That does look like a very sharp lens. I have the 80mm for my Fuji so about 120mm equivalent FF and it's also very sharp. I really need to get out with it a bit more. I'm sure I've mentioned another You Tuber before who specialises in macro. It's Simon Booth Photography, if you haven't checked his channel out I'd highly recommended it. He see's images that most of us would walk past 😊

Hi Paul, There is no excuse for people leaving all their rubbish. It get's me how they sometimes leave it in a neat pile as if someone is going to pick it up for them later. I am glad I took the fly shot I was waiting for it to leave😄. I do watch Simon Booth and as your say he has great ability at crafting out a composition, and can name everything in that woodland. A very talented photographer. Thank you for watching.
