Nice work! I super-detailed mine when I built it. I managed to find drawings with the leading edge slats and flaps deployed, so I did the same. I added the photo-etch set too. I also built a VT-1D and did the same with that, but also added the pilot ladder and did the rudders. The only thing I would do differently with the rudders on the VT-1D is to position them like the FA-18 sets them for take-off (both rudders angle inwards).

I bought 3 Hasegawa Models from Macross and when I opened them I was not ready to see the amount of work that is needed to make the models look correctly, I have been building Gunpla's for a while but this is on another level. The new 1/72 PLAMAX VF-1A/S fighter Valkyrie should be right up your alley. It is glue together, but it only has 85 parts compared to Hasegawa's 134. It has stickers, but you can always use the Hasegawa waterslides instead depending on which paint job you want.

I have an interesting question. I got my hands on an older version model. It's the VF-1S Valkyrie 1:72 15th anniversary Macross transformable model. I have attempted to put it together. The quality wasn't that great and it has been very difficult. The question is, I have gotten to the cockpit install in to the fuselage and it doesn't fit. I have double and triple checked to make sure I assembled it correctly and I have but the instructions on how it is suppose to fit just don't. I've literally spent an hour trying every which way and it doesn't. Any suggestions when you run into these scenarios?

Maybe the pilot's head touches the canopy? In that case, shave off the pilot's hip as much as possible.I did so.Since the inside of the cockpit is almost invisible, it is possible to disguise it by cutting it or installing unnecessary parts.etc..Anyway let's enjoy👍

What color did you paint the mini-nozzles on the legs? The double guns don't look like the same color as the boosters what color did those get painted. The instructions leave a lot of paint colors off so figuring this out through your video.

The foot boosters are matte black. The double gun booster is aluminum silver plus Gaia color brilliant silver plus clear blue. I don't think it's accurate even by myself because I'm using various colors mixed.

@@SATOGIKEN I was talking about the little mini-boosters in the legs on the side and also on the large boosters/guns on top. Thanks though for the colors....I'm new to this and can't just look at a model and determine the colors especially when the instructions are unclear on some parts.

The foot boosters may have mixed gunmetal and flat black. Since it is a model that has already been handed over to someone else, I do not have it. I'm sorry I can't remember for sure. Anyway, I never painted with the specified color. Thanks for watching 😀

@@SATOGIKEN I put a thin layer of Satin Clear on the gun in the models hand like I have done with all my parts so I can panel line them and when it dried it dried a sort of chalky white color. Almost like a grayish/white film over the color. None of the other parts have ever done that was wondering if you have had that happen and might know what caused it?

@@81artmonk Talk about a chalky powder? It is a phenomenon that occurs when the concentration of flat clear is too thick. It can be recovered by applying thin coats of thinner. I layer colors and coatings until I get all the desired effects.
