I love the build, but IMH is inconsistent as all fuck. I attempt to use it and it just shows the IMH buff but no damage buff. Something about Sunshot. Only fix was to switch hand cannons, but the bug comes right back. Can you weigh in on this?

If solar isn't your style or your using kinetic handcannons, stasis is a good choice as well. Great for champion control and you get a 40% damage buff to frozen targets with whisper of rending fragment. Just freeze the target with duskfield nades and then unload with lucky pants. Being able to reload all guns with the stasis melee also helps a bunch.

How would you adapt the build for Stasis? Which fragments and aspects would you use instead of those in the solar build? Ice powers on hunter are too much fun over solar for me lol

Required Aspect is Touch of Winter, Fragments are Whisper of Impetus and Whisper of Rending. I then add the Grim Harvest Aspect with Whisper of Conduction and Whisper of Rime for extra survivability. The last Fragment is a personal choice but I like Whisper of Durance for a longer grenade. As for Abilities gamblers dodge and duskfield grenade (although you could probably use coldsnaps as well). Then just throw a withering blade to make sure your reloaded, throw a nade/super to freeze target, then switch to handcannon to activate the illegal holster@@Groove_Crusader

​@@Groove_Crusader i run a statis lucky+malf but mostly building to the stat fragments but durance is good, shards is good with touch of winter when running duskfields (these can perma freeze barriers while active and have had it where they have tried to do it twice but freeze mid way), whisper of chains for dmg reduction for the extra 2 slots left if using grim harvest is up to you really. i like running impetus with gamblers dodge as you get the reload from marksmans dodge but for every weapon you're carrying (never need to reload that LMG/rocket again) and it's quicker when you really need it and the other fragment being what i feel like e.g conduction for stats and im lazy as hell. you could instead run shatterdive for shatterskate reasons and you'll end up with the 1 extra frament slot instead of 2 but statis fragments in general are underwhelming. why do i not run something like rending? it's because i feel like it does nothing. once you shatter it the fragment is dead, hunter doesn't have much way to freeze something in the first place and when i do want something frozen i would rather i not shatter it anyway for chains. not to mention your dmg when running malf ramps up massively towards the end so longer chains is active the better. i do run these builds in master/GM level stuff.

i will wait for warden's law to drop, it's like a mini crimson so it should build up rather fast with it dropping with fourth times the charm( you won't have to worry about reloading while doing damage) and vorpal, it should be among the best hand cannon to pair with lucky pants, bonus is that it is legendary so you can run it with tractor cannon for extra damage when you are solo. edit: with warden's law having the origin trait that heals you after a kill, it is definitely a watered down crimson.

I find myself using void + lucky pants more often than not anymore with the malfeasance and crimson. With the malfeasance and most other hand cannons that are not solar you cannot continue to proc restoration without switching to solar weapons. With void and lucky pants you can continuously keep up devour with the hand cannons regardless of energy type. You can weaken with a grenade you have that opportunity plus your melee plus tether at a 30% debuff.

When I first started Destiny a couple years ago, Sunshot was my favorite weapon (you can tell by the nearly 12K kill count on the gun...). I stopped using it when getting into endgame content as it just wasn't strong enough to be useful; now I'm so excited to see handcannons being useful for more than just PvP. Solar, here I come!

I was using the previous build with Sunshot because I just really like the gun and it has been a blast. Excited to tweak this one for maximum performance, though I might keep Gambler's Dodge for the backup melee because I really enjoy using the melee-dodge-melee hunter loop to kill stuff during the Out of Luck timer. While you can refresh the melee buff with kills in this build, I find that Sunshot's explosions kill red bars so fast that I'm using my melee on larger enemies that take multiple melees. This is totally just preference though, for maximum handcannon uptime Marksman's Dodge definitely makes more sense here. Thanks for such a detailed video and the extra build links!

If you don’t have a exotic weapon slot to use and are on arc hunter, Prosperity with Reconstruction and Focused Fury goes crazy with Lucky Pants. I was getting up to 43k damage per shot on Kali in Last Wish with 3x arc damage mod and Well of Radiance. And you can have it overflow up to 30 rounds in the background to add to your dps rotation.

I have a variation I’ve done of this. I was using a solar build that focused on Eyes of Tomorrow and Solar Trace - which has now been replaced by Zaoulis since double special is no longer viable. It was super heavy add clear with EoT and super easy sustain for resto and radiant. Also a lot of fun. The build centred around a lot of sustain with healing grenade and the fragments to keep it going with solar kills. I’ve actually gone and mixed your lucky pants build with mine now kinda. Double primary. Malfeasance serves the role of a special weapon and is great for boss damage alternating between a Linesr fusion (I’m using the one from RoN with recon and frenzy) Zaoulis is sustaining restoration and performing add clear. This kinda allows me to not have to focus on lucky pants and the ghost and juggling too many things. So holster is always active if and when I need to switch to malfeasance. I’ve also got a hybrid of kinetic/solar siphons, loaders and surges. Since they all have diminishing returns you’re not really losing a lot by going hybrid. All I really have to keep track of is restoration upkeep and keeping malfeasance loaded. Would be nice if holster mods didn’t suck so much and take up surge mods slots

Hand cannons feeling so bad in pve was a big reason why I had stepped away from the game, as they're my favorite weapons. It's so nice using them and not feeling like I'm shooting wet noodles. Can't wait to try this build out with Sunshot.

i felt the need to replace one of those solar weapon surge mods with Recuperation for healing with orbs, just to have more survivability in heavy damage areas. also doing so gave me room for stat mods. this mod set up really doesnt leave enough space for stat mods. in fact this prescription leaves 4 for Head, 2 for Arms, 4 for Chest (if you do put 3 resist mods as suggested), 1 for Legs, 2 for Cloak. thats skipping out on alot of stat points

I usually use Malfeasance with lucky pants, but I have a Seventh Seraph revolver with reconstruction and harmony that is great whenever I want to use a non-exotic. Reconstruction takes it up to like 22 rounds in the mag, and seraph rounds are great. Plus, unless I'm mistaken, you get a bonus to kinetic damage if your subclass matches the burn, so stasis handcannons are only good if you're using stasis.

Lucky Pants doesnt buff the explosive part of Sunshots bullets. So half of Sunshots dmg isnt being buffed basically. Probably still good, but not great if ur goal is massive single target dmg.

Malfeasances slug explosions are also crit hits. It really does slap, plus those slugs have unstoppable round. And this season has overload on hand cannons so it doubles up on champions

The super being buffed by kinetic surge got fixed this season unfortunately. I am not sure if solar surge buffs it now or if the buff is entirely removed for the super.

Wardens Law with vorpal + Vex on this build is ungodly. You can also run both sunshot and wardens law as well and it’s even more ungodly but running 2 hand cannons at once just isn’t my play style. If you do like double the trouble, Sunshot + Wardens Law/vorpal is insanity.

might be also worth noting, unless something has changed recently, Golden Gun is also coded as a Kinetic Hand Cannon, so using Kinetic Surge mods, with Golden Gun (Marksman) you can stack Radiant, with Kinetic Surge, for some insane DPS.

There is a problem with the firesprite that gives you restoration, if you already have restoration for 12 sec, collecting a firesrprite will put it back to 2 sec wich is very annoying

I was messing around today with lucky pants and randomly used thorn since it's getting a catalyst soon. And surprisingly (yet with way to much effort) if you get soul devour and charged with light my buddy used bubble and tractor on the loot sector boss on nessus I managed to reach 57,980 dmg which completely surprised both of us

I wouldn't suggest using Solace and Mercy together, as it seems that picking up a firesprite resets your restoration to 2 seconds (even if you previously 10 seconds). I would suggest Emperyan and Solace with a solar secondary or melee.

I feel like it's worth noting that Warden's Law should theoretically run damage boost up twice as fast and can run Fourth Time's the Charm + Vorpal :P Also, I would suggest checking out the hunter moth build this season. The moth nade synergizes with void and arc grenade fragments as well as grenade mods. Personally I've found Arc the best with Beacons, Amplitude, Volts and Discharge but it's worth noting you can make your grenades have 3 charges instead of two and have Void Overshield with Woven Mail on strand which is hilariously OP ...I average 70 orbs generated per strike it's insane

Sunshot surprised me cause its more of a dps armor piece but I can c yo would use it. Another notable hand cannon tho suggest is erianas vow as it is right behind malf in damage. U also have an easier time doing dps rotations with it due it's catalyst basically being automating holster.
