That display was so well done! It's more like a theme "ride". It must have cost a bundle and took a lot of time to set up, but it's well worth it - I imagine all the customers who stop to walk through this display come away with joy.

This originally belonged to Strawbridge and Clothier. Then went to John Wanamaker after the bought out S&C. Hence in turn Wan amaker was bought by Macy’s it’s current owner.

It has moved to several different stores over the years but has been a Philadelphia Christmas tradition for over a half decade! Aw, my city's premier department store, Dayton's, used to do this every Christmas. Then Macy's bought it and closed it down. Bah humbug!
