I been growing them with my cactus and succulents in three green houses in Tucson. Most of what you show are common ones but even those are not readily available and some of the newer hybrids are impossible to find. They are hardier than agaves and less prone to bug attacks. Wonderful plants . I just wish I could find more! They are growing under 30% shade cloth and probably could take full sun in California coastal areas.

I have a couple Mangaves and keep them in pots. I bring them in during Winter to the greenhouse.

Yeah I bring mine in to my heated shed. But I may try a few in the ground this year with extra gravel.

Will plant some spring 2024 outside next to house and leave them be to see if they survive to the following spring 2024 in zone 7b. I like experimenting with plants that are hardy to zone 8 but survive zone 7b.

Yes!!!! That’s a gravel garden idea I can stand behind! I don’t need/ want alpine plants but I can’t live without Mangave!
