►About the Game -
The Extrication is a standalone sequel to The Bridge Curse: Road to Salvation, and is a reimagined adaptation of the thriller film The Bridge Curse 2: Ritual. It is a first-person survival horror game, seen from the perspective of multiple characters, that uses a modern, campus ghost story as the basis for its plot.
The Story
The Bridge Curse 2: The Extrication takes place at Wen Hua University, one of the ten universities in Taiwan known for its unsettling ghost stories. To attract new members to the film club, a group of students has decided to hold the Carnival of Horror in the Da Ren building, which abounds with rumors of ghost sightings. They plan on re-enacting a bizarre case that happened on campus decades ago and turning it into a horror movie, but as they rush to film in the depths of night, strange things start to happen...
At the same time, a reporter arrives on campus after receiving an eerie letter in hopes of resolving a mysterious missing persons case from the past. After piecing together a series of clues, the mystery unravels and a massive conspiracy covered in darkness is on the verge of emerging.
As they frantically try to escape, the terrifying being behind the specter-infested building gradually reveals itself... With demons closing in and impending doom at hand, will anyone survive the horrors of the night?
Features
Stunning performances by unforgettable characters and frighteningly vivid monsters create a one-of-a-kind sensory experience packed with both terror and humor.
Players experience the bone-chilling horrors of a haunted campus from a first-person perspective, traversing a world that integrates university ghost stories with local culture and folk superstitions, all while highlighting Taiwanese architecture, lifestyle, and everyday environments.
Evasion
Observe the environment and make your escape. Hide in concealed spaces to avoid being pursued, or use elements in the environment and other unique items to divert the attention of those hunting you. Find a way out... before it's too late.
Puzzle-Solving
Solve unique riddles and puzzles to uncover the terrifying truth hidden behind an array of mysterious events. Only then will the story's final enigma emerge from the darkness.
Exploration
Explore the environment to obtain key items and information which will lead to hidden clues scattered throughout the school.

Motion capture is an absolute gem in this game! Not only are the ballerina's movements silky smooth, but also all the characters' (including our protagonists) gestures and interactions are very emothional, which makes them extremely endearing. I just wanna say, as cheesey as the dub dialogue is, I absolutely adore it. The VAs have so much energy to them, it feels like they were having genuine fun while recording. Something about it feels so... nostalgic? Not sure if that's the right word, but it feels like the dubs from the 90s and early 2000s when they pretty much gave the VAs free reign to go nuts with their parts, and it resulted in some of the cheesiest, most memorable lines from that era. I'm thoroughly enjoying this. Minor edit: The dancing animations are as smooth as butter! Props to the devs for making it look VERY real! Well done!

The ballet section is amazing. Looking forward to what the game has in store. Looks like this game will jump between multiple character viewpoints happening around the same time period. Looks like the architect is running for the main villain role, since he was the one who purposely screwed up the school's fengshui during its construction, also reported in the newspaper to be involved in a murder of passion. It's possible the film club that is making the movie knows about the urban legend where the architect trapped the girl Youyi in a mirror dimension forever. There seems to be a number of vicious ghosts in the school, but there are friendly ghosts like the dog and the doll (albeit a little malicious) that can help the protagonist.

I am absolutely FLOORED by how good this game is so far! I understand its hard to find a gem of a game every time so I don't really complain that the other horror games I watch don't really scare me. But this game! The first chapter actually scared me! This chapter wasn't as scary but IT WAS SO GOOD, the tension with the Ballerina. And ofc seeing her story made us feel for her. Ah THE MUSIC, the mini heart jumps with how she comes real close to you! The first game wasn't scary but it was good, and this sequel is FANTASTIC! AGAIN, THE MUSIC!!!! Oh and ofc the smooth movements of the ballerina dancing was so good too, great job team!

@AzureTank776
@AzureTank776 28 күн бұрын
Huh, it IS very similar, now that you've said it. Both Ratri and the Mad Ballerina were not chosen to represent their school/campus as its main dancer in favor of their sister and resorted to dark rituals to fulfill their wish. Funnily enough, despite their many similarities, their life is actually opposite of each other's. Ratri experienced the good side of favoritism; always being favored by her family and praised by other people. On the other hand, the Mad Ballerina experienced the bad side of favoritism; always being compared to her twin sister and even told by her teacher to give up her dream.

So far, this has been leagues above the first game. The characters are a lot more likable, and here are some interesting references. For example, the book in the bathroom is a nod to an actual book called Rich Dad, Poor Dad which was written by one of the wealthiest men in the US. I also love how we seen to be putting some souls to rest and how each ghost has its own tragic backstory. The little girl who just wanted to play, the ballerina who never knew her sister wanted to share the stage, resulting in both of them losing the ability to dance, the guard whose cause of death is yet unknown but likely linked to his late wife... And we have other spirits who are more mysterious or whose stories we know very little about. This Dark One is almost certainly the defaced man from the group photo, but who is he exactly? Hopefully the protagonist death count will be lower this time around, as I really like the cast. More importantly, perhaps they can find a way to break the curse and restore balance to the school - even if it means destroying one or more buildings to fix the architect's intentional alterations.
