I had a 1967 P6, it was a 2000 SC in Brigade red with a tan leather interior. It was a joy to drive. Quite sprightly for a big car, with the most comfortable seats I've ever had. It was like a gentleman's club inside. Another car that I wish I still owned.

Its nice to see so many P6s still around today. They were lovely cars to own and drive daily, but their Achilles heal was corrosion. The V8 automatic was so nice to drive, although some owners would cry during visits to a gas station. :)

In the 80s, my dad had a Rover 3500 in turd brown (oops - Tobacco) with a sunroof. It was fabulous in a straight line, but cornered like a boat compared with the Alfasud I had at the time...... :-) I can see the attraction though.

dtl2000 I just watched your two videos of this mass of truly horrific vintage (and vanquished) cars. In the united States they hold several races around the country called the 24 Hours of Lemons and more then a few of these would appear to be good candidates. It boggles my mind that anyone would want to purchase most these cars at all but I recall an old copy of Classic Car where someone dug up a 58 MGA that had been buried for decades and restored it?!. Here in sunny southern Alberta the environment is far kinder to our older cars (no road salt in some areas until the eighties) and so we do occasionally see a good many of these cars still in restorable condition and I have a number of them in my fleet (i.e. '77 Capri II Ghia, a mint condition '75 Marina GT with dual carbs and only 10k miles, a number of MGB roadsters (both rubber and chrome bumper) and several late 60 to early 70 BGTs,, '73 Midget, '80 TR7 roadster plus a nice low mileage TVR 280i). That being said, there are a few cars I would love to have had the chance to add to the collection but they are as rare as hens teeth here such as a nice Vauxhall HB or Sunbeam Rapier GT. Despite the crap weather you guys experienced it was great to see your video of your visit and I really wish i could have been there to see it with you both as I really enjoyed the banter between you. I'm much older that either of you but I always enjoyed walking around old wrecking yards in western Canada and the Pacific Northwest of the US to see these same old cars and the memories they evoked. Great job guys! by the way, is there any way to find out what the results of the auction were? I wouldn't have minded the Fiat 124 coupe I can tell you. Cheers!

Thanks for the link to the auction results. GOOD GRIEF! based upon the results there are some buyers who should contact FLATLA Auto Wreckers in Tilley Alberta to pick up some old British cars in far better shape than many that were sold here. Once again, what a great video!

Sunbeam was a really odd choice in the US as the tigers sold better than the alpine. my dads got a series 5 alpine and has owned it since 68 and its a 67 not bad two owner. Capri hearse awesome, my fav lot but needs the engine coming thru the bonnet for a very uncivilised funeral. I'd have to rename it though caprinada doesn't work needs to be Granpri

Dang if I were there I'd be spending alotta money, then paying 1 or more restoration shops a small fortune. I'd buy every Capri I could get my hands on. They've always been 1 of my favorite Fords & they're incredible rare here in the states. The Capri body should've been the replacement for the big bodied Mustang instead of the Mustang 2. I'd also have that blue Rover & green Morris Minor & of course that Cortina, & have it built into a Jim Clark tribute :-)

However I must say come on guys, were you not allowed to open the hood or Bonnet? Or even take a camera near the interiors? And really wouldn't you want to be driven for the last round in the Capri Hearse? Where's the fun in death for you guys? LOL. These cars are not what we get to see in North America like this especially this many years after they were new. Thanks for the look and sorry for being the party pooper (again). It’s a biplane and a car. The 3500 has that legendary Buick aluminium V8 block that was developed for the sixties small car craze in the US. Shamefully the Americans didn’t like that light & nimble engine (3.5 liter is just way too small) so they sold off the engine to Rover which made it to a British legend.
