Aya picked up that cursed book, yes, but... ...at some points, she showed that she may have already been starting to be like her father. Like, when we're going through the father's "life story", he wrote that his mother's dead face looked beautiful. Aya, when examining the body, almost make the same comment, saying, "her dead face looks..." as though she was about to say it, but stopped herself. She may have eventually turned out like her father, even without the book.

I think the book she picked up had to do with it. Possibly influencing her in some way. Because for some odd reason, I find it a liiiittle strange that after desperately crying out that she didn't want to become a doll, 5 minutes later she reads a book and suddenly becomes infatuated with the idea of making other people into dolls. So I blame the book. That was probably her father's that probably was given to him by Ogre. Because I'd find it pretty hard to find a book like that anywhere.

From how I see it, her mother gave her the chainsaw *I believe she hurt Snowball with it by mistake* and little animals *can check the drawers in nursery to find some little dead animals* in hopes of her being like her father. So my guess is that Orge put the book there as he could be considered 'The Red Eyed Stranger'.

Actually, this may just be my theory but, if you read some of the diaries in the game. Some of them mention that "she" is just like "him" when "he" was younger ? (I'm just using my memory on this so I could be wrong) So I'm guessing it was Aya's father's diary and he was referring to Aya.

Yes, Aya had tendencies like her father and he did not want that, he wanted her to remain "pure", somewhere realising that what he does is horrid yet can't stop his tendencies. Hence he was protecting her purity by making her into a doll, young, in his own fucked up way. Her mom did not want that, she wanted Aya to grow up to be like father.
