It's a whole other game when your bike breaks down in the middle of Kansas, Utah, Nebraska, or Eastern South Dakota. I've seen the motorcycle clubs driving to the giant motorcycle gathering at Sturgis, SD in Western SD. There is a shop van truck - driven by a woman or an old guy - following the bikes that can instantly repair them. I would *never* trust my life to a Harley on a drive through the middle of no where Arizona or California. That because the MFP isn’t the regular police. They are specially trained for high speed pursuits on Australia large highways where gangs where robbing semi trucks transporting goods.
@MarineAqua453 жыл бұрын
The Main Force Patrol was not meant to be a police force that ran all of Australia,in the future,as it was set up,by the Australian government to combat marauders on the vast highways,who robbed people & road-trains,carrying supplies (Like fuel & other consumable goods) that were meant to be rationed,by the Australian government,following the fuel crisis. The MFP was a section of the Australian,Federal Police,whose officers had basic Commando-training, advanced driving-training,first-aid/combat-medical, hand to hand fighting training,etc,taught to them by Australian Commandos. The Accident Appreciation Squad of Victoria Police,dealt with road-accidents & pursuing the Toecutter was the job of the MFP,unless the Toecutter went into the city of Melbourne,where the Victorian Police would chase him & his gang. It was implied that Max himself was a former Victorian Police constable (A probationer Police Constable,I think?)who was recruited into the MFP,as he was a top-performing policeman-according to Terry Hayes novel,where MFP personnel were mainly recruited from the various regular police forces.

Really? Is the Milk Bar still a thing? What is a Milk Bar?
@peterparsons24143 жыл бұрын
@@the_kombinator In Australia its a place where you buy milkshakes and hamburgers and fried food even small goods. The name milk bar is not used that much now but the places are still all around, back in the day when this film was made they were the place to go to hang around meet girls and be known.

@@the_kombinator that time frame sounds plausible for extraction. Volumes will be reduced over that time frame. Trouble is, only the wealthy and connected will be able to reliably access such materials in real quantity within a much shorter time.

@@dennisyoung4631 With the rise of electric cars and their growing numbers, I think there will be no problem with it in 20 years. The price might double or triple, but fuel will still be readily available. No way to really tell but to come back here in 20 years and check ;)

I believe one of the stunt riders was killed or seriously injured during the scene where Max ran the bikers off the bridge into the water. You can see the biker got hit in the back of the head by his bike tumbling toward him

Milk Bars are just corner stores, got food, groceries etc, they used to be around until recently. Some still are. Back when you had video stores and a pizza place, milk bar was what had hamburgers and cokes etc. kids and teens would usually hang out there before moving on to the days adventures. Good times.
