At the end of the game it says it "rewinds time" for you, as in the wasteland becomes your playground so players can complete anything they haven't done yet. In the story, Chumbucket and Hope still die :(

Seeing these people bitch about this ending makes me think they've never seen the movies before, I mean the whole point of him is that he's gone MAD, hence the name MAD FUCKING MAX he has and always will be a fucking loner, who suffers tragedies from trusting and getting close to someone, he lost his shit after Glory and Hope died from Scrotus, and detested Chum for blabbing about where they were hiding, and he did tell him twice to get the fuck off the car but like chum said, he'd gladly die with the car instead. The devs catered to the lore of Mad Max rather than the bullshit fairy tale ending people seem so adamant about these days. Like for fuck sake, it's a wasteland, when you hear shit about sadness, tragedy, and dispair through out the game they fucking mean it, only til the end do some players actually realize that out in the wasteland there's no peaceful endings to things, it's all chaos and death and sadness.

Looking back at this fight, I think it would have been cooler if the Earth Mover hadn't required the Opus to fall off the cliff, but the interceptor came out anyways. The final battle could have been the Interceptor vs the Magnum opus. Imagine how amazing that would have been

Am I the only one who likes the ending? Mad Max is not set in a world of fairy-tales and happy endings. Therefore, it would only make sense to have everything amount to nothing; to have everything both Max and the player worked hard for set the both of them all the way back at square one. It's like Max says at one point in the game: "We used to have loss. But we also had hope. Now we only have loss."

No its an awful ending to an awful game. This is one of the worst and LAZIEST written stories ever in a video game despite really solid gameplay mechanics. The only thing that totally ruins the game is one you complete all the side missions and activities, nothing respawns. No bad guys, no chasing down patrols, nothing. The story is weak where its just getting revenge on the guy who stole your car, they create ANOTHER wife and kid max runs into (i counted, he literally met them 4 times total throughout the game, this is inculding their death scene) So then after they die max is fueled with rage to finally kill this car theif, which after all this time with Chum Bucket selflessly helping him out and trying to be a good person, you kill him for NO REASON and destroy the car that we were all supposed to enjoy (its literally called the Magnum Opus, the cream of the crop, the best of the best, the old car doesnt fucking matter then.) Just to have a lazy cliche boss fight with the villains character having no depth to him other than hes evil, he stole your car, and as an added bonus, he killed some acquaintances you just met. Do not buy this game. If you get it for a dollar and want to drive around in a cool car, then ya, get this game, but never ever pay more than a dollar for this game.

Gameplay mechanics are great, but the shoehorned in love interest, i counted, you meet her and the brat a total of 4 times before they are killed and they are only killed to remotivate max to kill the bad guy, which at this point Magnum Opus is SO MUCH COOLER than the challenger why bother? Plus the little igor dude who worships you, you just straight MURDER him to try and kill the bad guy, which is pointless as the bad guy lives.

This is a straight forward survival, freeroam game, i.e. its not pretending to be something its NOT (unlike MGS5) Yes, the final boss fight isnt that spectacular, BUT all the other positive aspects of this game make more than up for that!! Mad Max is the best suprise of this year with a TON of replayvalue and bang for your buck!

The car battles in the game are awesome (specially in first person mode). And thats what matters really. Max is a driver, The Road Warrior. And i thought the road battles in the game looked and felt epic. Same as you i am also a long time M,G,S, fan, but not bothered even buying MGS 5. Saw a video and aside from the end boss battle i thought it looked like more of the same. Long live M,G,S, one.

I finished the game with ALL Upgrades and everything at 100%. Scrotus' Escort stood no chance. Their Cars were all armored, but still one hit for the level max Thunderpoon. ... and they all fell... one by one!

the thing that developed the most during the game was the car, the 2nd being max (he actually gave a fuck about hope and glory) I don't care about what anyone says about this being a "max-esque" ending. Good stories include some kind of development or change. and the end of the game the car and max are the same, and the car you spent the entire game building was tossed aside for no reason (because scrotus just comes back anyway, and also you could have just used a thunderstick to knock the fucking truck off the cliff).. Just finished the game a few minutes ago. I feel robbed. worth the 20 bucks on steam i guess, but definitely not 60

+MessengerOfHell It's funny how an ending after many hours of gameplay will dictate whether or not you'll purchase it or not. This is just the story mode aspect of it, there is PLENTY of fun things you can do as well. Don't let the story be the most important aspect of GAMEPLAY dude.

MessengerOfHell If a story is what drives you to buy a game, then maybe you're better off watching a movie instead? I don't see how just because of a game's ENDING that makes you the missed opportunity of enjoying the GAME itself. At least rent if you're so sensitive to endings.

+tnargtnarud So all I have to do is enjoy some neck breaking, gore, explotions and a fair share of maniacs and just throw out the window the most important element that defines something that has to make money or catch the audience's attention? Seems fair, if I manage to switch off my brain. I've dismissed a lot more based on cheap or weak story writing. A weak ending is like a giant middle finger for all the action in the game and those hours you spent on it. It cuts off every little built up emotion and anticipation for a fitting end.

Yes, But the car isn't to much strong bump or maybe it was atleast the truck was set on fire besides Scrotus couldn't lived if chumbucket would complain about destrying the opus to get the black on black.
