As much as i love the franchise, I’m only a fan of the original Mad Max and Road Warrior. I wanted Furiosa to be successful so that we could get the Wasteland movie based on Mad Max with a returning Mel Gibson reprising his role as the titular character.

17:04 You're right. It is not the same. The Hunt for Red October has 76 reviews, the least amount of the mentioned films, and has a grade of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. If we assume that all future reviews were perfect grades, 100%, it would take 155 new reviews for the movie to reach a grade of 96% without needing to be rounded up. But let's bump it up by 300 perfect reviews, closer to Mad Max: Fury Road's 440 reviews, which currently gives it a grade of 97%. This boost would put The Hunt for Red October up to 97.5%. Awesome, right? Well...what if the grades aren't all perfect? What if the new 300 reviews all gave the movie 95%? Or half gives 90%, half gives 100%, even split, same added number to the total. Well, that knocks down from the perfect 97.5% to a new 93.5%. 4% just went missing from losing out on 5% from each review. Now take into account the number of new detractors that would come against these old films, as more critics means both good and bad reviews, or grading systems that hold back the numbers in the averaging. Does it still look like a modern number of critics would equal to a better grade than Mad Max: Fury Road? To me, no, the math doesn't support that here. Meaning you are still left with the asked question: is Mad Max: Fury Road really better than all of these other films?

Imo, Thunderdome makes sense continuity rise if you treat the movie as a story told by the people he saved. Heck, that's how the movie ends! Maybe it's lazy, but it lets the movie exist without impeding the others!

A lot of these big projects seem like Doug's hot takes. They're entertaining, but they tend to divide viewers because of the respective opinions of the viewers. Honestly his Jurassic World review made my entire family mad, to the point where my father turned it off when Doug started complaining about the CG. Even Rob tried calming Doug down in the "Sibling Rivalry" for that movie, which was before the review was even being made.

Keep in mind Doug is technically setting himself up to be told why Fury Road is great and he does defend it from people who complain that it’s too “feminist”. Plus, he does admit Thunderdome did have some problems. Not saying it’s a perfect review, but it’s still really nuanced.

I’m sure I’ll get some hate but I kinda like transformers age of extinction yes bumblebee is the crown jewel transformers movies but there’s so much that I like in transformers 4 The autobots have actual personality and I can remember their names outside of Optimus and bumblebee (for context I had to ask who the Scottish autobot was in the 3rd movie) Lockdown is a pretty kickass villain he’s cold ruthless and his face turns into a gun Kelsey grammer as Harold attinger is a great human villain cold ruthless and has an actual good motivation he’s trying to prevent another alien war and he’ll do anything to do it including kill Cade’s daughter Tessa And Mark Walberg as Cade Yeager he’s a great human protagonist and he’s not Sam The action scenes are very entertaining and battle cry by imagine dragons is a fantastic song I don’t understand why this film is considered the worst when revenge of the fallen and the last knight are far worst hell I didn’t even like the first film that much even the 3rd film loses a couple brownie points for me but age of extinction (to me anyway) is the best bayformer film ever

Good on ya, Nate. I, too, enjoy Road Warrior more. Not everybody has to give into the Fury Road craze; not to say I dislike it. To quote Road Warrior, "Losers! Losers hate!" But yeah, compared to the ones with Gibson, I agree that Hardy is serviceable for taking on the role. Also, just because the Jungle kids part of Thunderdome may have been too corny, that doesn't detract from the movie's positives completely, like Tina Turner, the return of the Gyro Captain and son, and the end chase. If you don't like it, that's fine, but those who find some enjoyment in the cringe, I salute.
