They did bring back MADtv. No one watched it.

It is because the writers were different and/or the new cast was whack. I watched one episode and it was worse than SNL. I was like WTF?

I like snl better
@antmagor5 жыл бұрын
OK here goes, Throughout the run of SNL they had seasons that were great and seasons that were horrible, it always depended on who the cast, writers, and producers are at a given time in history. So if you don’t like the current state of SNL don’t watch it. As for MADtv, when they were in their heyday they were funnier than SNL hands-down. But then the cast went on to other things and they couldn’t or didn’t try hard enough to find people who could re-capture the magic that was Mo Collins, Deborah Wilson, Alex Bornstein and so on. The biggest mistake They ever made was letting Stephanie Weir go. Anyway the point I’m trying to make is this, MADtv found something magical and couldn’t keep it going, and unlike SNL they didn’t have an over three decade reputation to stand on; if they did maybe they would’ve lasted the course but who knows. We as fans are never going to be able to replicate those good times try as we might. We should just do what others had to do when SCTV went under, except that the Show has run its course, and it’s time to draw the final curtain.
@antmagor5 жыл бұрын
TraceyMak1 I saw one episode where they brought back Aries Spears and Debra Wilson to do reality check, the person they were supposed to give the reality check to was Megan Kelly. That schedule is completely unworthy of the legacy of Tova McQueen and Velma Button.

LOL!!!!!!!!!! omg MAD TV was freaking genuis. How does SNL go on and on when it's never EVER funny and this gem get cancelled??
@Blannibal3115 жыл бұрын
Because SNL has been on since the 70's and has had many historic runs while MADtv only had about a 2 to 3 year run that was good and then it went to shit. Hell, Bobby Lee, Jordan Peele, Will Sasso, Ike Barenholtz and others have said how the show basically became a shell of itself and it was terrible. People who actually take this stance of, "this is funnier than SNL", have never really watched SNL during it's greatest periods. In the 70's, late 80's, 90's and early to mid-2000's SNL was on top of the world and on a roll putting out great sketches. There's a reason that so many legendary comedians have come from the show.

Guess quantity is easlier to produce than quality. That's why Discovery and similar channels are making tons of reality shows and very few high quality documentaries.

It’s odd he never tried to go back and “recreate” his original appearance. Even just for a photoshoot or a life performance... though maybe it was intentional since he could risk sending the wrong message (i.e. using race as fashion accessory). However, I feel like his appearance could’ve been significantly improved if someone talked him out of the permanent makeup, fake eyelashes, and the middle aged housewife wigs.
