I love how the crowd was completely oblivious at first and talking over Brandi as she started to play the piano. They showed absolutely no consideration, and then as Brandi started to sing, all of a sudden they fell silent, and I am sure they were hypnotized and awe struck. I guess that is what happens when the voice of a goddess cuts through the cacophony that is your trivial conversation.

Is there a song that Brandi doesn't perform so beautifully? She leaves me astonished every single time.

I don't think that I have ever heard anyone put it quite so eloquently. Well played, good sir or madam, well played.

Just LOVE.

she doesn't want to be main stream or hugely popular. It's by choice. Which is a shame on one hand, but I do love seeing her at the small venues and getting to chat with her after the show.

Hallelujah! I feel the same way. I think it's bc she doesn't conform to some pop ideals. She just performs. Maybe one day a DJ will remix one of her songs, and it's be the biggest thing since American Pie.

it was in a Gears of War commercial a few years back, but it was also in the movie Donnie Darko which is where most people recognize it from.

Thank you, Alphacause! Sometimes I've asked myself the same freakin' question. She has fans; her shows sell, but I guess she doesn't subscribe to the accepted models of teen idols and rappers. Who knows--one day some DJ will remix one of her songs, and it'll be the biggest thing since, I don't know "American Pie."
