Sooo hard to find REAL travel docs anymore. Everything is a lame "travel" vlog hyper narcism project. This is great, so glad I found it. Reminds me of growing up watching Globe Trekker which actually followed people in the region & their lives & gave some history; obviously for a younger generation but this is great now that I'm a BIT...older. :)

This French guy is exceptionally helpful to the local Madagascar people, and I personally think that he is doing fantastic work, but it seems that the documentary is basically making him heroic and a safer of the day. If one wants to help and knows that the people are ignorant about certain things that will make their lifes better, teach them and keep going.

Yeah, I believe its compulsory to have a guide in the national park there...a good idea for a lot of places, then perhaps a little tourism with a hefty levy towards preservation
@cattymajiv Жыл бұрын
I fully agree. I wish Canada would restrict access more. Overuse is killing our parks. If people want access so bad, let them pay. Especially the rich, in their $500,000 motorhomes. The poor can't even afford to get to the parks, so if they are able to make it there, they should be allowed in for free, but only subject to the same limits on visitorship.

These baobabs must be a different species as those found on the African continent. They could also be related to the bottle tree found in Australia. All are most unusual as sometimes spectacular. The largest (not tallest) baobab tree I have ever seen was on the great north road to Malawi from Zambia.

The French guy wants to reforest the island with local trees but then also plants the deadliest of all trees as a new wood source.🤦♀ (Eucalyptus is a pest here in Europe. It has deep roots and needs huge amounts of water, thereby kills all the other plants around.) I hope at least they use the Eucalyptus for their antibacterial etc. stuff, too.
