I love the 2nd to 4th lines so much! "Whose blood to spill I don't know Whose side I'm on" It's so amazing how madalen made the "I don't know" work with the line above and below as enjambement, where at the same time it's clearly not a 3-line-enjambement. It emphasizes the uncertainty of the meaning through the poetric form! Meanwhile it underlines the next line because both, the 2nd and the 4th line would work without the "I don't know", but only as long as it is unclear which line belongs to that middle line, because from there that line becomes a statement instead of a question. It's like 2 armies, both calling for the "I don't know", and which ever one you think it belongs to, it makes one complete, and the other incomplete. I love that so so much!
