Most are not taught and package does not inform, also the longer tip is a finger grab do not open n spread the tips , it’s meant to grab it’s designed ratio of hair. Another tip, they are meant to do an x marks the spot so most secure when crossed one over the other creating a lock. It’s a cosmetology class knowledge and education,,, not generally -- as in non pro population.

If you angle your side pieces as well when you go to clip them in starting at an upward angle they will blend even better. As it will follow your natural crown

Ok so I realize this video is 3+ years old but I just happened to come across it as i was googling DIY aftermarket balayage coloring on my extensions. When you said you pin the back up I recommend try using little hair rubber bands but make sure they are the rubber ones and not the little plastic ones because those ones if one happens to break they don’t feel real good close to the scalp as they are not very strong. I truly love using them in my hair and what I do when I wear my clip ins is right where I am going to put the clip at I get a very small bit of my hair and tie it as close as I can get it to my head and wiggle the teeth of my clip into the secured hair and on top of the rubber band to help hold the extension in place incase of slipping was to occur because I am always so worried about accidentally pulling one out in public lol. Me personally I don’t do a band for every clip only for the single and double clip strands and for the longer pieces i just put one on each end but if you wanted to put on every clip you certainly can it really up to each individual. To me it reminds me of the tiny braid that do when you get the sew ins done and it gives me more confidence and they actually seem more like your real hair because your not as nervous about pulling them out when you move your hair to one side or moving around! ❤

Yes I do! And washing them is a pretty long process because they take foreverrr to dry, but they only need to be washed like once a month because I dont wear them often!

I use like 200 bobby pins if i know that I'll be wearing them for more than 4 hours, that way it's bullet proof! But also, it does make a difference how youre placing your pins. They should criss cross into x's that way they dont slide out

Any tips for people that used to have very long hair and then accidentally burnt off all the hair from bleach, that's my situation now lol I had very long hair and now I have a pixie cut from poorly experimenting with bleach… but I think she looks great the way she put in the extensions blends perfectly without it being curled but I know how it feels to have extensions in and you feel like everyone else can see them.. I'm hoping with my now short pixie hair I can get my hair to grow out as fast as possible! 😬 And in the meantime just put in extensions I've never had super short hair before and I feel horrible..
