I know the gutter and I know the stink of the street! Kicked like a dog, I have spat out the bile of defeat! All you beauties who towered above me... You! Who gave me the smack of your rod! Now I give you the gutter! I give you the judgement of God! Vengence victorious! These are the glorious days! Women of Paris come gather your bloody bouquets! Now gaze on our goddess of justice, with her shimmering glimmering blade! As she kisses these traitors, she sings them a last serenade! Zing! Swing! Savour the sting! As she severs you! Madame Guillotine! Slice! Come paradise! You'll be smitten with, Madame Guillotine! The world may be ugly but each man must do what he must! Give in pretty dear! In a year you will be pretty dust! Now come let out lady possess you! In her breathtaking hair-raising bed! She will tingle your spine... As she captures your heart and your head! Zing! Swing! Savour the sting! As she severs you! Madame Guillotine! Slice! Come paradise! Our Delia will, shave you razor clean! God! When did man lose his reason? Save us my God if you're there? God can you not feel the terror? Like a fire in the air? Flash! Slash! Glisten and gash! She will ravesh you! Madame Guillotine! Slit! Madame just bit! Give her more to bite! She's a hungry queen! Zing! Savour the sting! As she severs you! Madame Guillotine! Slice! Come paradise! *HAIL HER MAJESTY!* Madame Guillotine!

Qui m'a donné le coup de ta canne ! Maintenant je te donne la gouttière ! Je te donne le jugement de dieu ! Vengeance victorieuse ! Flash ! Slash ! Scintille et taillade ! Elle va vous ravir ! Actually, at the time of the French Revolution death by guillotine had a whole meaning attached to it. Before, death by decapitation was reserved exclusively to nobles and aristocrats, this is, people from very high social ranks. This was because it was a fast and efficient way to die. The peasants, on the other hand, were usually hanged or squatered, which are much more violent, slow and bloddy ways to die. During the revolution, the french, by making everyone die by decapitation, meant to demonstrate that everyone was now, equal, even when condemned to death. This is only to say that this is probably the reason why we don't use the guillotine to kill anymore. It is deprived of all meaning when we take it out of the revolutionary france context.

And it is, compared to other forms of execution like say the electric chair or the lethal injection. The guillotine is definitely one of the quickest and most painless forms of execution, it also has the added benefit of being pretty cheap and having next to no error when carrying out the sentence. Now I know some may not like capital punishment, and that's fine you're allowed to not like it. But if capital punishment is to exist, than I'd say the guillotine is the only way it should be carried out.
