I just saw a few pages of this book online and it's safe to say it's definitely not about a lost race. If it was one clan of people, it wouldn't just have women, there would be men and kids, which is absent in this book. If it was written in early 15th century and there's lots of naked women in the illustrations can only mean one thing, it was written by a woman with some sort of treatments for women. Like how they do ayurvedic therapy here, bare minimum is to lose the clothes first. Although most plants seem mysterious, there was one plant bearing resemblance to a *Venus Flytrap* Also there's scorpions and such, we know that scorpion venom and leeches are used in treatments. So, some sort of feminine health journal is what it could be, in my opinion.

Actually it may be Leonardo da Vinci's diary. That may be written for only him that he wants to remember his memories. It may written in his own secretly created language. Because his birth is 1452 and death is 1519.
