Most devine hill..I had this divine opportunity for the dharshan of veliyangiri shiva peruman last year.I saw even people above 60 climbing this hill successfully. The belief and spiritually sound mind is necessary. Physical strength is secondary only. If people just to face trekking experience and to test the power shiva will fail. Stong bakthi on shiva will take you to the top.

My passion towards trek started from veliyangiri hill itself. I remembered when I went for first time, I was 10 year old girl. By seeing the nature of that hill beauty, I became passionate about trekking. I went continuously for five years. Since I'm a girl, post maturity no girl is allowed to trek up. So yeah I am really missing now to trek up here. I am just waiting for my old age. Post 50 any women can trek here. I remembered when I went first time along with us a granny also trekked for the summit. She really motivated us mentally to summit by sharing some spiritual stories. It was really an unforgettable memory to me.

My first Trek in life was velliangiri, after that I climbed many Himalayan hills and TN hills. Of course Velliangiri Trek was very challenging to me bcoz I was 120kg when I did the trek and it took 7hrs to climb and 7hrs to come back to bottom. My preparation was just I was walking 5 to 7kms for 3 days before going there in barefoot... Pls do proper stretches and prepare body before going there.. Namakku kadavul nambikkai laam illa, trekking ku kaaga poi experience pannitu vandhen...

As a physiotherapist in my point of view the main causes for young deaths are due to reduced lung functional capacity which has reduced drastically for the youths nowdays due to sedentary lifestyle and reduced proper guided physical activities and researches which has been published latestly also states this. I have conquered this summit for 5 times .that too one time all alone at a midnight .to challenge myself.i have heard a lot of mysteries about this hill.and there is a portal there to go other dimension.i couldn't find anything like that.but I was overwhelmed with power and bliss of Shiva. Bro… I went twice. Successfully completed my trekking in 1st time but 2nd time I couldn’t, even though I was physically fit when I went for 2nd time. If you think only about god then you can reach the top else you can’t. At the end of 1st hill you will find one vinayagar temple almost 1000+ irregular steps you have to climb. 2nd hill will be combination of steps, normal plain road and some slippery stones, at the end of the 2nd hill you will find the pampatti Sithar place and 1st water source. 3rd hill will be again steps and little steeped plain way. At the end of 3rd hill you will find another water source. 4th and 5th hill will be mostly plain pathways filled with grass. 6th hill you have to go down, u won’t climb up. At the end of 6th hill u will find a pond in which water will be in freezing cold and one shiva lingam is inside that water. I recommend people to take bath here before approaching towards 7th hill. Bcoz that bath will take out your fatigue and releases good energy to climb the 7th hill. 7th hill is an extreme steep hill, but difficult to climb also, but if u want to see shiva then you have to struggle a bit. Some tips for people’s to climb 1. Always try to start in the evening after 7 pm. 2. Reach 6th hill, take bath and take little rest before proceeding to 7th hill. 3. Have darshan, see sunrise and start coming down and reach 3rd hill as early as possible, bcoz u will have shadows only in 1st 3 hills only.

I m from Coimbatore still we ll get goosebumps wen we visit the temple..... Malai adivaaramla kovil irukum..... Palamaiyaana kovil..... Ladies not allowed..... Once my son started crying tat he wanted to climb the mountain and see, we couldn't control him and after a long time we made him to understand tat he cant trek at his age... He was 6yrs couple of yrs before......people who trek and came down only can feel the aura of that place...... Being a Coimbatorian we hv not heard any such tribal people things...... But feeling bad for a big persons yoga center in the same mountain forest area many cres has been commercialized.....

May month is best month to go.. Because as of now water scarcity seen because of less monsoon rains last year.. April, may you will see thunderstorm rains in velliangiri hills.. It should start the water flow back for drinking purpose and heat should come down. but remember you should not go there when there when it is heavyly raining because you will get stuck there in slippery path, leeches and you cant bear chillness as it Will pour when it rains there. So do a quick weather check with me if you are planning a trek here... I went last year and I enjoyed each and every second of my journey being a nature lover and Sivan devotee.

Its best to visit on Wednesday or thursday because weekends are very crowded. Climbing with crowd will be very hard. Week days with sunrise on 7th malai at 6 am is very beautiful view...

I have visited velliyangiri 7 Times....its trekking season starts from January to May(Before mansoon starts)..It is advised to Trek at season starting (week days preferably) and start your trek after 9pm and you will reach the top by early morning and you can also able to see the sunrise....Try to decend the hill before noon 👍

It is best to start by evening.... So that u can see the sunrise from the 7th hill (if lucky). Best adviced to carry some water and light weight food. 4 nd 5th hill is best to rest... We can probably reach there before 12am... Take rest if needed... Thn start the challenging 6th nd 7th hill... Bamboo stick is most necessary for support
