One of my firend is a assitst director and said what happened during shooting: Actually Nanum rowdy thaan movie was projected to be completed in Rs.4Cr. But during mid way through direction, Vignesh shivan love track started with nayan and he couldnt focus in direction and infact spent additional 30 days to reshoort some of the already shot scenes and finally landed in 17Cr. The movie released after 1 year with compunded interest of total spent amount of 25Cr. This movie was luckily a hit and Dhanush saw break even with this movie, but had a very bad reputation with Vignesh. As a director vignesh shivan he never had good reputation with any producers. Just imagine what would have happened if prabu deva's X wife ramlath had thrown mud slang at Nayanthara when she was living together with him? There are good and bad sides to every human, but it depends on what proportion.
