Somebody get this to Pixar! This should be a full length movie! Man who cuts hair by day and a talented trumpet player by night. Could be nice to see something new for once
@iamvevee7 жыл бұрын
Drew Hughes I agree. This was a beautiful short film but in this day and age you probably wouldn't find anyone who would want to do anything with this and make it into a movie because of how everyone is so touchy and just looking for an excuse to cause problems over controversy instead of learning from it
@Blues_Man9897 жыл бұрын
well they could take ideas from it though....you could leave the whole race part out of it and I think they'd be fine
@iamvevee7 жыл бұрын
Drew Hughes yea I'm sure but I think that plays an important part in this short film

How did they make the skin texture so realistic!? 5:40 it has like every little bump and imperfection that real skin has, this is a very well animated short.

Freytag's Dramatic Structure of "SWING OF CHANGE" by ESMA Exposition : Harry the racist barber doing his job in his workplace while listening to military/national music. Initial Accident : Harry's phonautograph suddenly stopped working, leaving his workplace without the presence of music. Rising Action : Harry was annoyed when he noticed that there is a black man playing jazz music outside of his workplace and took his trumpet. Unexpectedly, the black man instantly disappeared, leaving Harry confused. Climax : Harry later realized that the trumpet is magical and could play on it's own. At first, he despised it because it plays jazz music (which is a genre of music originated from mostly african-american), but then he lower his inner barrier and continues to play with the trumpet until evening. But, as soon as he stopped, he shocked as he looks himself in the mirror and saw his skin turned to black. Falling Action : He sits on his chair, contemplating his previous racial hatred towards the black culture. Resolution : He changed his perspective and ripped the "white only" sign on his front window, welcoming anyone to his barbershop apart from their diversities. Denouement : Harry is serving a black man in his barber, a visual symbolization of his positive change, and a good example of how music has so much impact in our social life and beliefs.

Yeah that's why he was trying only to play his military music rather than jazz because jazz came to be because of black culture so he resisted but eventually was overcome by the music
@mychannel-rt2gn Жыл бұрын
That's the whole point. A racist white man fell into black music styles, namely jazz and swing. In Europe those music styles were often called "n-word musik" and were outright banned in nazi Germany
