If the football game was greatly coded, similar to real life, it wouldnt matter how many different plays you had, nor what adjustments you make to them. The problem isnt customs its bad AI Defensive logic

What about being able to switch players when the qb rolls out? That was my issue if a qb took off running Madden would not let you switch player to give help down the field. By the time you could switch players the qb is now 30 yards upfield

I remember one broken play in Madden 06. It was a rollout to the right on a Weak I formation and had crossing routes. The primary target was the TE, but WR2's route was pretty much a guaranteed 20 yards. Flipping that play didn't work though.

The biggest thing that would help Madden is some randomness. Sometimes guys bite on the crossing route and leave a guy open deep, sometimes they drop back. Sometimes guys keep contain, sometimes they get focused inside. It just has felt so robotic for years in Madden. This or that will always work. This guy will always react the same way, or at least pretty darn close.

I’m interested in seeing how the new zone defense plays the PA deep cross. Every year that play ends up being a wide open pick route on at least one of the crossers.

I played the beta. Pass rush was dialled up a lot. If the D didn’t fall for the PA you were taking a sack or you needed to check down instantly.

QBs rolling out has been a huge problem before Escape Artist. I remember getting crushed when I would go against West Virginia on NCAA

Thanks for the content, brother...I'm very optimistic about this game...i still some issues, i saw on a video about the mid air knockouts...the receiver basically moved backward in mid air in order to help the corner make the contact...why do we still have these teleport animations??

There is no optimism for this game. Madden will always be good on release and terrible after the patch updates that’s been the tradition every year. We will have a video soon on how the patches brought this stuff back because the patch update always gives us the previous version of madden. This won’t change this year.

Hopefully they stop having receivers and tight ends set them ball like volleyball players on high passes downfield. They just tip the ball up so the defense can easily intercept it.

Here’s my concern… I know how they have this “new” feature in free agency in franchise. My question is will the players you draft will they have “personalities” like the real players. Like do random made players you draft will they want a lot of money will they care about being close to home. Will they care about being in a tax free state. I’m sure it will. But will it be generic with every draftee. Where they always care about tax free states and always wanting to be home and always wanting to be on a playoff team. This where I think it’ll be broken. I hope not but madden hasn’t had me think otherwise with the past maddens.

Yes players will have sexual assault charges from unattractive IG models ls and massage therapists in off season and holdouts in camp. Some won't even have agents and still hold out like now. DUIs , wreckless driving , drug charges etc. You name it. "It's in the game!" 🤣

What I rlly want them to change is that when I play against Lamar, Kyler, or Allen. They literally just run out of the pocket and just throw a perfectly accurate ball to the other side of the field. That's not fair or realistic at all.

I remember, back in 2004, when you can design your own plays, I had this one wr bunch on one side, and a Hb rollout on the other side. You have to read it; it doesn't always happen, but more often than not, the Hb will go streaking down the field uncovered . . deep. I mean, if you have a fast hb, it's a completely uncovered hb in the end zone! I could run this one play all game long. I had a route for every situation on one side, and that hb rolling out on the other side.

I can tell you there are still one play TDs, You can still drop a lineman to the back and confuse a QB as well I only notice Linemen ignoring the blockers when I am play offense, when playing defens my guys still seem stupid

I really hope they also made man coverage better because I’m so tired of speed being the main determining factor when it comes to a receiver getting the advantage. RR and all of the wr stats don’t really play an important part when you’re dealing with just casual play and all the player ratings are set

I havent seen in-game content for weeks. I appreciate you Eric but you made the same type of vid last year for 22. You know that so many creators will have like 40 one play TDs that work out in the 1st few days, youre give EA way too much credit. I hope i am wrong but if I was making 2 Billion dollars for minimal effort, cut and paste and roster updates, I wouldnt change either, idgaf what fans say, they are giving me money regardless.

I think they said that flat and hook zones are gonna be better this year and like Ray said corners are gonna react to the ball better than they have in the past so maybe slants and flats won’t be that assured this year

Is the standard 4 man pass rush gonna be better this year? Every year I always hear people say it’s fast but then it either never is that fast or people complain cuz they don’t get enough time to throw their deep bombs every play. I remember madden 20 had the best pass rush by far and I just hope madden 23 will at least be as good as that or better

You can't blame EA for that. Those features are next-gen only because they are only possible on the next generation of consoles, just like the new movement and such. The tech in the past generation of consoles is too outdated for big new features like this. I'm pretty sure you can get the xbox series s or a ps5 digital for $400 brand new.

The thing about escape artist rollouts on QBs like Kyler Josh Allen Lamar and Pat is these QBs do the same thing in Real Life against actual defense that’s what makes them hard to gameplan for.

And if a QB doesn’t have it regardless of their speed rating they’d be next to impossible to scramble with. Which is ridiculous you’ll have a scrambling QB that isn’t good at scrambling until their a Superstar X-Factor.

With escape artist nerf what is the point of scrambling arcetype? X factor now and also it’s not as fast anyway? On top of contains working better? This is all better for the game but why not just get rid of archetypes at this point. Scrambling archetypes best ability isn’t even an ability, and AP is too much for passing abilities.

They could have made it an X factor but left it as fast as it was or left it an abilitiy made is slower and adjusted the contains. It was OP in madden 22 but it was a combinations of bad contains and terrible zone logic. They could have added a super spy ability that got an increase of side to side movements to keep on with the qb.

Madden still has a lot to improve on look at the defense at 2:10 the ravens players ran into each other and the blocking for O line is still terrible madden has taken some steps but there is still a lot to do

What about when there's hurry up offense and the defense is in man the defenders don't move but the guy they're guarding is on the other side of the field Also if there's a qb contain i am never able to run outside with the qb the DE is just as fast as the qb

The contain issue isn't an issue for current gen (next gen). If your qb has even around 80 speed, you can still outrun a defensive lineman.
