I dropped madden 23 after everyone’s defense became pressed man blitz then click on for the INT bc the dbs would run the routes for the wrs And the only attribute that mattered was speed

I’ll believe the run blocking is actually better when I see it. The computer rather than search out the next defender in the path routinely wigs out and turns around and blocks someone behind the runner, and often times I’ll have two down field blockers randomly cross each other and neither make a block.

Dope, it looks like DBs have a better chance of an immaculate dive catch off of an erratic tip than a receiver making a more common jump catch... Classic Madden realism

If you look at when the high balls are broken up the defenders are getting speed burst animations which just looks unrealistic and glitchy. Hopefully they don’t reward bad defense with an animation that lets you make up over 5 yards in a millisecond. The animations are good if your defender is in position but if I’m not even in the play the animation shouldn’t drag me in to bail me out

It was one play and that’s because Micah Hyde has deep zone ko, makes him react faster to passes in his zone. That didn’t happen every time. The one to Kelce in the end zone the player diagnosed that pass to Kelce before it was even thrown. The other few were just dropped or swatted

I see the other one to Toney now but even still the defender was literally closing on him once the ball was thrown he wasn’t that far away that it didn’t seem realistic. If you actually watch the game play video itself some of the picks tre white was getting were downright crazy

High ball pass was needed in 23 bc safeties at LB would jump mad high to snag a pick across the middle that should’ve went over the head

I don't play MUT and I rarely run Dime sets so I never experienced having to deal with Safeties at LB- but I really hope they fix it because having a meta where an entire position group becomes obsolete really sucks. especially with the great off-ball LB's we have in the league today.

What needs to be fixed is guys running pass D’s vs I form and getting run stops. Regardless 335 shouldn’t stop that run, AI or not.

With the adaptive AI for run defense, does this mean that if we use the same run play a couple of times and then run a PA out of the same formation the defense will be more likely to bite on it because they're reacting to what they've seen before?

That’s been in madden, not noticeably but if you ran 3 times in a row then did PA from what I notice your success rate was a lot higher. Or if you threw 3 times in a row then ran you’d have a good success rate as well the animations just weren’t there

In all honesty, I’m really banking on them to fix the AP point system in ultimate team. Mainly play Mut squads (Trios) so I hope everything make sense for it can be back fun again!! They tried making it to “6” only but it didn’t matter cause everybody had discount for “0” Ap 🤦🏾‍♂️ hope it’s only “6” with no discount AP’s Also, they need to add a playoff’s for regular teams Trios!! It’ll be nice to be on a “Road to Super Bowl” with a low team like Bears or Lions. It’s so many ways to improve the game but it’s up to them to stop screwing us over!! Hopefully they listen to us this year

At least blocking looks like an actual game concept now; that plus not limiting a "gang tackle" to two "collisions"; hopefully more than one player at a time can ACTUALLY wrap up on a ball carrier

I always liked how a Runningback would literally be sideways and somehow still be able to generate enough power to carry a linebacker 5 yards to first down.

Definitely haven't fixed the warping, but that's what you get when you base your entire game on animations without much input from physics.

I wish the made it so that sub linebackers that are safeties get absolutely killed in run blocking because nobody uses linebackers anymore. Linebackers from madden 21-23 were liabilities to have on the field unless they had lurker and you user’ed them

The sad thing about the corners routes were it was the only route you could beat man coverage in…. Sky cover 3 with adjustments easly wipes out corners for me

on the improved defense reaction and adaptive AI, given they will react faster to the play done 3 times in a row, if you did a fake sweep bootleg to the left, would that be a big play? Or would the Adaptive AI know it's not the same play and play conservatively?

They didn't take highballs out the game All they did were added the realism when you get hit in the air by a linebacker or safety you most likely going to drop the ball

I don’t think the AI adapted fr because the TE just didn’t do the same block (backside lb) on the 3rd time, the LB had the same reaction and just came unblocked

I hope there’s an actual layer of depth to the “adaptive AI”. It’s a long overdue feature but I hope players aren’t able to circumvent it by running one different play then immediately going back to the same thing. I don’t want the AI to be dumber than me. If my opponent only runs two plays out of a niche formation, it shouldn’t have to be run multiple times in a row for AI to catch on

EA makes us think adaptive AI is great when great LB’s play I want them to play like a great LB this tells me awareness doesn’t matter people shouldn’t have to spam plays for the AI to recognize it (90 awareness players)

EA Madden Developers needs to just research more on players. Replicate everything thing they do on the field. Until then, my suggestion to Madden players. Is to build your MUT team with 90 plus awareness attributes.

As a pc player seeing next gen on the pc this years makes me excited, i hope other sport games does this too. After RDR2 this game makes me really excited to wait to come out. I hope the next gen and new defence system makes running plays more difficult because i am tired of especially on franchise mode, making runs and even if you get a downing animation gaining at least 4-5 yards... I really hope this years things will get more good and more challenging to play.

we will see how these changes really work a few weeks into the game being released, and then once they do their first patch is it going to mess stuff up, my biggest issues were zone cvg, and i hated how in coach mode my QB wouldnt run, and this may seem petty, but when u are in free agency section during the season, if u click on a players card, it doesnt show any career stats page...

ohhhhh and speaking of stats.... i dont think they ever fixed it, but there was a handful of players who had 0 sacks on their stats page in 2021, real life season, like Bosa had 0 on his 2021 stats, i also wish madden would open up the playbook with more priority stars, sometimes i wonder if the cpu even picks plays that dont have any priority stars on them

True, though I’m hoping one day EA ups their AI substantially. A lot of players don’t actually read the defense and do audibles accordingly, a lot of them blindly do the same hot routes every play. IRL it’s easy to recognize, if someone puts their best WR on a slant seven times in a row for example, it shouldn’t be hard for the AI to “recognize” that.

@christianlopes6386 the problem there is hot routes themselves. Hot routes irl are a very rare thing so they could easily program pass d ai to recognize any regular play if called enough times. The problem that arises is that if they recognize a certain play and try to start jumping that, all the player has to do is change one route on the play with a hot route and then they get 100% free yards for a few plays or the AI recognition resets to 0 after that play. Making it useless. The freedom to call hot routes in madden is the biggest enemy to making a realistic pass defense AI because hot routes themselves are pretty unrealistic

so in short term...offense got nerffed and defense got a buff...this game always been lob sided favoring defense more...you got rid of high balls bc it was to much for the defense to handle so u nerf it...its already bad enough tht the Wrs or anyone catching the ball gotta drop it when they're open why do tht?...i stopped playing madden 23 bc of the whole loop blitz thing...thts not fun...im coming back to 24 hoping it changes...

Idk man Madden 23 next gen receivers almost always drop high points via “early breakup”. 9/10 times results in an incomplete. I gave up on high point passes in September of last year.

Considering that Defenses and defensive backs are really not as good in real life like how madden has it: WRs shouldn’t be dropping passes as often as they do. WRs drop way too many passes by being lightly touched and seems like more drop passes at unrealistic rates will happen again in 24. In the era of air raid offenses and WRs making catches 90 Percent of the time that should be reflected in the game. EA still think defenses dominate the sport and that’s not even true anymore LoL! That said excited for the game I’ll always find a way to pass at elite levels regardless.

Hate to tell you, they can make all the improvements they want, but as long as you can amp up all your players to 99, make some of them, if not all of them bigger, and run a no huddle when the defenses seems to be stopping you, you csn destroy the AI. It's been that way on every Madden game I've ever played. I can always cheat and outsmart the AI that way and EA can do nothing about it.

Eh they didn't just remove it the way you're talking about. Any team that runs tight sets still has them, but they're simply different versions of tight, which don't have the exact same routes that were more powerful in the old tight sets. But the formations still have the same real life concepts.

They should’ve added being able to tell your defense to GO FOR INTERCEPTION! Endless games have been lost because easy interceptions are batted down instead of easily picked then you give up a bullshit TD .

Can we just call this game as it is… Madden 23 Summer edition 😂😂 we are NEVER gonna see a difference in gameplay until they stop relying on animations to take over Every snap. Any simulation game not predicated on physics is a fail from the jump. There’s no way people should be running into each other and not feeling the force from each other. Instead we morph into other players and glitch back to normal until the play is over
