Madden 24 Franchise Mode Doesn't Suck

People going to hate me saying it but madden need to be a every 2 years franchise. It’s just simply no point to keep putting out garbage. They could simply do roster updates for the rookies and focus on developing the game play. That gives them a whole extra year to put out better product. Best move they can make. And I’m sure if they started making changes people want, people Will be okay with waiting a extra year. We don’t need madden every year. And I’ve never bought it every year cause the odds are usually just updates of the evens anyways

I'll stand by what I've said for the last 10 years. EA needs to build a team to code a new madden from the ground up and make it a subscription based game with yearly roster updates. It would take about 5-7 years, but the end product would likely be 100x better than what we have now. They could even keep making the yearly games with minimal updates while that project goes on in the background.

When does it change TFG? It changes when you, Rayweather and all the other content creators go to the connections you probably have at EA and say, "We will no longer stream or promote your game until it is fixed." Do you have the collective will to do that? Because, as the NFL reminds us every week in the end zones, it does take ALL of us. And as great a coach and broadcaster as John Madden was, it will in my mind be a stain that he didn't make a few phone calls when he was alive and say, "Hey Clint. John here. Listen, fix this shit now or I'm taking my name off the game." The man who said in 1989, "If it's not real football I'm not putting my name on it" went back on his word and now that he's left this world it's too late.

Looks promising. Still would like to see more inseason scenarios like holdouts, motivation issues, suspensions etc. Also add elements like "recruite FAs" with things like promised playtime, fly them in for a visit etc. Just give players more personality. For the Draftclass I'd also like to see more options when it comes to scheduling visits with the recruits (like in NCAA 13). I'd also love to see the Senior Bowl back where you could play a game with the senior rookie class. Last but not least, make the Pro Bowl playable even if you advance to the Super Bowl and share a list of where players stand in Pro Bowl voting.

I completely understand the reality of sports gaming in 2023. While there's some nice updates to franchise mode there's enough evidence that EA won't be prepared for bugs ect one people start playing the game. So Dec- Jan will be when the game is in playable shape which there will still be issues. That's happened enough for me to say something like this. I'm not paying $70 or buying a next system where there's a 7 month cycle. Unless they figure out something different I'll never play Madden again. Imagine what madden would look like if they took 2 and half years to develop it. 7 months is not enough time to deliver a quality game in my opinion. I play the maddens on ps2 and update the rosters. Graphics aside people need to stop buying the game if real change were to happen. It never will because people buy the game.

Hey TFGPlays I’m a huge and I download your draft classes all the time but I have a HUGE issue with Madden NFL 24’s Franchise Mode. When it comes to computer generated draft classes I usually don’t like some of the equipment and appearance of some players and I like to edit those players aesthetics and give them visors, backplates, sleeves or whatever. But some reason on Madden 24 you can’t edit players on other teams you don’t control like you could in previous Maddens. Is there a way to fix this because the more I play franchise mode as in game seasons pass the more my league fills up with computer generated players with equipment that I can’t edit. Does anyone have a solution? If not I seriously hope EA fixes this because it breaks immersion the longer you play in your franchise having DB’s with linebacker facemasks or QBs looking like punters and kickers.

We don’t really see front load or back load contracts in the nfl, most contracts just increase as years go on. So i don’t mind that not being in, but what is definitely missing is being able to renegotiate/extend players. Restructuring is fine, but if a player is on the last year of his deal with a major cap hit, it sucks you can’t do anything about it

It almost made me throw up in frustration and I skipped Madden 23. The two things I think they need to add is the edge rusher position so we don’t have to play lolb and rolb a shit ton and they need to add ways for backups at positions like qb to develop if they sit for a year since many qbs behind veterans play significantly better then first year qbs who play week 1. I completely agree that the game misses the NFL experience all together. I forget which year it was (i think Madden 2005) but in Franchise Mode they had local newspapers for each team and they might have had a radio show too. You could then see what each team was up to each week. It was very cool. You would think EA could do a social media page for each team that updates weekly. It would be nice to get some intelligence on teams that way, especially pre draft. Now I’ve said before here that I long ago stopped subscribing to the vicious cycle of buying Madden every year . I’ll buy a madden every few years and hang on until major upgrades are made. So it sounds like I’ll be upgrading this year from Madden 21. (I bought that one because it was finally back on PC) But I’ll give it a few weeks / months to make sure all the bugs are worked out. Thanks for the honest review. Franchise Mode for life!

NFL Head Coach 09 had the complete immersion down pat. The coaching tree, random injuries or boosts from random events, playbook knowledge being a thing, body part specific injuries. For example: You could have an amazing athlete, a real stud, but his learning attribute would be in the toilet. So, no matter how freakishly amazing he might be, he would often blow assignments because he simply wouldn't learn your playbook. It mattered in Head Coach because you couldn't user any player on the field. You were the coach. That's it. Say you draft a guy and he's got 80% health on his left leg. During the game he would get tackled and take more damage to that leg. You could see the health going down on it. You could set a slider to automatically take him out once that health got down to a certain level, or you could risk it, let him play, and then he might get injured with an injury to that exact body part. Then your trainer on your staff would actually make an impact.

One of the things that bothers me the most about Madden's franchise mode is AI. Many teams are poorly managed as the seasons go by. Additionally, the offensive playcalling in the game is frustrating - you're playing against a team that has a playbook with calls for a QB scrambler, but the QB on the field has a speed rating of 75. Still, the coach calls a run play for the QB.

Create a team logo and create a stadium and fan and create a play/formation and it be nice if they add some thing from NFL coach and they should add a halftime show and radio weekly report and it would be nice to be able to pick heads or tails again miss that. And warm ups for the top players on the team and stats and reports on player preforms and the coach before the game starts and the coach career stats. Would like historical teams on play now and franchise. But it's definitely better! I like Mimi games and a lot of the improvement they made so far!

Thank you this is what I don’t understand why EA can’t manage to do in all their sports franchises franchise mode. I’m basically on offline franchise mode gamer my whole life but have literally drifted away from all sports games all because EA can’t manage to have a proper weekly/game wrap up or radio segment. They had it in madden 07 I believe and here this many years later they have nothing like it! EA only cares about micro transactions and it’s only gonna get worse

During the season, I only use young players as my focus players during the week. During training camp I usually use middle age players who I plan on being starters for the next few years. If I have a 28 year old player who is an 84 if I get gold on some drills or silver on others I get a level up point for them. Like gold may be one level up point plus 2000 xp points. A level up point for them may be 25000 xp points, whereas for a 22 year old rookie it maybe 6000 xp points so its a lot easier to advance the young players during the season, training camp is the chance to advance you middle aged starters in my opinion.

I'm so surprised EA hasn't taken the player tags feature to help with fixing the edge terminology but just making players, edge players and then giving them a 3-4 edge or standup edge and 4-3 edge or hand in the dirt edge. I feel like this could definitely be improved upon. I would like to see the ability to use players more specifically like as a 3 tech or 5 tech but I can understand that starting to be a little deep in the weeds for new users

I see top 5 prospects slip down and not go at their projection place. I’m not sure about the qb thing yet but it looks like it is improved. We will see if it’s just slightly better or if it is fixed.

And people like this guy, Rayweather and others could at least partially fix this by standing up and say, no this is crap, we're not going to promote your game until you improve it, yet they're making too much money and perks and clicks from the game so they'll never do it. It's like getting Congress to agree to not give themselves pay raises. Tell me, EA, trell me TFG, why SHOULD we accept this? EA is a multi-billion dollar company who has had decades to work on this game. While nothing will ever be perfect, I found myself picking up Axis and Draft Day Sports (which combined cost less than Madden) and while they certainly do have a way to go to become true competitors, they actually DO listen to users, the devs are on the Discord, in the forums you can actually chat directly with them. It's clear that they care and EA doesn't. As great a football personality as John Madden was, the one stain he will have is not demanding an improvement to this thing while he was alive.

Just know that in about a year and a half they will pull this game from live servers and you will no longer even be able to boot it up, even though you bought a full version and all the files are stored on your PC.

It's generally a fun game, the graphics are the best graphics ever in a football video game ever. But at the same time, the game is a copy and paste from previous years. But I have learned not to get my hopes up to high about Madden.
