This is amazing! Who does all the mowing? And do you reseed when the pastures are resting? How many acres total are used for turnout? This is horse heaven on Earth!

We do quite a bit of mowing! :) We do reseed when needed and spread on the fields to build topsoil when needed. There's a lot to it for sure! Thanks for your kind words.

Thank you! Many of these retirees are owned by other people who are doing right by their old partners. They rock too!

Beautiful! how many retired horses live on the mountain?

These fields can hold up to 15 each, four herds for a total of 60 horses. We have room for another 15 or so in other fields around the farm.

How often to do you check on each horse, do you have horses that are not strong enough to stay in the herd?
@johnmaddensalesinc2 жыл бұрын
They are grained twice a day, mostly to keep them on a schedule and get eyes on them at least twice a day. We do have some smaller herds that some of our older ones go into, but we divide our herds by personality and gender, so our rowdy guys are all together, and our older more mild types are together to avoid issues.
