We wouldn't have football games as we know them without him. He insisted that Sega and EA put proper 11 men teams in the game back in the 8 bit technology days, or else he wouldn't sign off on it. Bless his late soul, he genuinely believed in the game 🎮

This was the last madden I ever bought, I played a 30 season franchise and by the end the algorithms that kick in after week 5 were so brutal we weren't even playing football any more

Might be best comment here. These PS2 Madden games had so much soul compare to newer madden especially Madden 24. Only those who understand or who grew up during ps2 era of Madden games or earlier will understand what you mean by your comment. Young people who first madden game was probably Madden 20 will never understand. So much heart were put into MADDEN games. This applies to many other things in life like movies, music etc. There was much more quality in things then vs now.
