They may have got back on track with the games actual quality, but this game DID practically invent consumable dlc, one of the most hated things in gaming. If this didn't invent consumable dlc, it certainly popularized it back in 2009. A podcast that didn't even care about or like sports games brought this up at the time to complain about it and said it would kill the gaming industry. I am surprised that more videos that talk about how much they hate consumeables in games don't bring this up more often.

Madden 10 is STILL one of the best iterations of Madden. The gameplay along with the greatest presentation package of ANY Madden to date made this game special! I STILL play this game on PS3!

I don't know why but Madden 09 is still my favourite! I just loved the weapons system and everything to do with that game except for Revis' shit rating, I have M10, I sold M11 and I'm getting M12 but I still love Madden 09 :D

i 100% agree with the commentary....Every sport game needs a commentary that excites the person playing the game and makes them want to play the game even more. The only game that is close to doing that is probably NBA 2k9 (for PS3)

I would of been happy if they just 1. gave me better rush blocking 2. fixed the fact that "my skill" always sets the bar above your actually skill level and 3. gave me some customizable TD moves or some real stuff like a frustrated lineman after he gets beat 2 times in a row so you have to decide to leave him in or take him out cause his agression might make him better or it might cost you a down on a penalty....not too much to ask is it?

Personally I think ESPN NFL 2K5 is the best football game out there. Like sallyy3 said, everything Madden is coming out wit now, ESPN NFL 2K5 already had. The group tackles, the weekly recap shows. EA Sports is behind.

i think the only problem i ever had with all the maddens (dont know if its the same for nfl 10 dont have it) is there are always too many interceptions on both player and cpu controlled teams. Thank god for sliders

The only reason I have ever purchased Madden year in and year out is because of the deep franchise mode. Since Madden '99, the franchise mode was the biggest draw for me, and then '05 finally rolled around with the deepest franchise ever (owner mode, player position competitions, smart draft trades and choices, holdouts, etc). Then next gen Madden came out, and it has never been the same. '07 was so bad I didn't buy '08, and '09 crashed so much and franchise was so weak, I may not get this one.

Buy it used from Gamestop, that way you can return it if you don't like it, or you can rent it. The calls from the ref are good about 80% of the time but they are very inconsistent when catches are made near the sideline or in the endzone. Those are HUGE issues if you ask me. The refs don't discriminate against the A.I. team either as the computer opponent made several catches inbounds, but the ref called them incomplete passes.. I'll make a vid the next time it happens. :)

on 09 its true but on 10 u can stop any play like people who bliz like 6 people at a time...hard to throw accurately but if u keep a tight or rb in to block it gives you more time. people jus dont want to make adjustments for some reason

DeeJayRoyalT: I skipped the 09 year but this was exactly the problem I had with 08. What I did was put it on pro but turned a lot of the sliders up (pass catching, accuracy etc) so it was still more challenging by not impossible if your not used to pro.

Dude, have you played the demo? 10 was way slower, I think they're very different. I kinda prefer 10's game speed, but they're two different experiences. But that's just my opinion :P

@TastyBiscuits to not get sacked you have to develop strategy, actually READ the defense, develop progressions, etc. Backbreaker is better, but only if you prefer realism. The blocking is much better, the db-WR interactions are much better, and it has a smoother feel. The only problem it has is when you throw it aims too high to start, and yes the pass rush is amazingly fast (although these two could easily be switched with a patch, and the second just takes getting used to)

EA should add all these features before the game starts. Cars driving into the parking lot, People walking through the turnstyles, Tailgating, During the game once in a while a Crazy fan running on field Security chasing him lol. First Person View, Highlights of other games player of the half. After Game Scores Highlights interview player of the game Gatorade dunk on coach when going to playoffs Players in Lockers with celebrating over a huge win or Super Bowl i would buy it

Madden is cool and everything don't get me wrong. The gameplay is awesome but they need to focus more on what i mention besides gameplay. i would like to see madden look more like real football (not just in graphics and gameplay) show scores and highlites of other games. Maybe even highlights between plays of other games. If they do the 25th Anniversary Mode and add more games including "The Crib" Madden would be awesome. i didn't really care for 2008 or 2009 (only the gameplay part)

Madden '11 and '12 got the exact same score ... 8.0 ... this got an 8.9 even though the negatives were the same as the first two. How does that work? Is it a higher score because it was better than Madden '09?

Tiburon and EA need to implement Euphoria into next year's game. The animations in Madden look terrible when compared to Natural Motion's Backbreaker, and that game's still in beta.

I think this game will be as good as 09 possibly better, it appears to have lots of good new game modes which will be great to play with new madden player. I only have two dislikes and they are, even more cartoon graphics on the wii and on wii you have to unlock franchise and superstar mode. Great game look forward to getting it for my wii soon

I like all the added features the video game makes. This is way i was playing ESPN 2K5 More than i was playing Madden. Espn2k5 on PS2 had more things to do than Madden did at the time. 25th Anniversary Mode, First Person View, The Crib, Chris Bermans Scores and Highlights on Sports Center. This game was based off Sunday Night Football Even the Suzy Koblar is in it after the game with interview of the player. if i spend $60.00 there better be more than just game play ESPN2K5 $20.00

it depends on the what u are tryin to do if u have one on one coverage if u keep a man in tto block the man tha was covering plays a zone. and it gives u time to throw short routes like slants and drags, but may not be enough to let off a deep route thats realistic to me cuz jus cuz u got more blockers does mean u are for sure gettin the time you want but maybe jus extra time that u may need to hit a hot route

the fact that you hit a directional button makes you cut or juke doesnt add realness to the gameplay it makes it difficult to run upright. this is by far the worst time i have ever had on madden. controls are shotty and the gameplay isnt great either. pressure comes when i max protect and interceptions are thrown to guys 5 yards from the play. i had one player catch a ball 5 yards from him because he was close to it. he suddenly jumped to the spot and caught the ball. it should not happen.

Madden needs to do what ESPN 2K5 thought of.... interviews after the game player of the half play of the game highlights of other games they need to focus on the rest of the game and stop focusing on gameplay... the gameplay is fine already everyone knows that... if they make "The Crib" like they did in 2k5 Madden would be 10x better... also the 25th anniversary mode, First person view and more.

real "foot" skills, running and juking and spins are real foot skills, may not involve moving with a ball on your foot or kicking, except with kicking field goals and to be honest soccer is like american football, both pretty much consist of the same amount of strategy and tactics and require subtle and individual talent, both sports require teamwork you can't have a good player and sucky team in both sports and be a good team, so in my mind requires some different skill sets but similar in ways
