Maddux really impressed me the last couple games, especially against UNLV. What he lacks in height and arm strength he makes up for with his intangibles and reliability. The dudes a winner, he shows up when it matters .

Keep telling yourself that.. Wait till we face Ohio State. Your opinion with drastically change.

He makes me think of like a diet Kellen Moore, nowhere near the talent level but the style is similar

@@brandonbailey4509 Looks like one of the best offensive coordinators and qb coaches in the league disagrees with you. So does Boise's record. What exactly do you think Nelson is going to come in and do?? You think all the sudden our receivers will have elite speed? Be able to catch 50/50 balls? I've seen our recievers drop 5 yard passes. Doesn't matter who throws to them, Ohio State would shut down our recievers. Nelson couldn't even get to third string on USC. I'm sure he's talented. But you are not.
@brandonbailey45096 күн бұрын
@@RIPJimmyA7X Far from it, next year he is not going to get these numbers. As he is lacking a deep ball threat and cant thread the needle when you are playing against MAX coverage....Oh wait.. Oregon, UNLV ( 18/34 not very good). Good numbers against top teams are like: 30/35 for 300+ and 4tds.. HE CANT DO THIS AGAINST TOP TEAMS WITH TALENT. We are needing a TOP TIER QB. He is no arch manning.. but we have a recruit that beat Arch out.....Malachi Nelson!!
@BrandonBailey-m8n5 күн бұрын
@@samc878 You have to have a nice tight spiral to have the receivers catch the ball effectively.. MM is wobbly at best

"We have higher aspirations than a pat on the back." As does your loyal fanbase. Coaching is everything against any team, and you have two of the best. Execute their plays, and Boise State will surprise a lot of college football fans. I'll be at the Nevada game tomorrow with my grandkids and I'm looking forward to another Boise State victory in the books.

Haters will always hate. Madsen is a good QB. There’s only a few still calling for Nelson to start. The rest of Broncos Nation is behind Maddux.

I don't even believe winning a natty would make them happy.
@samc8786 күн бұрын
Anyone with half a brain knows that Madsen just lacks a really consistent receiver or two to throw to and other than that, his production and growth have been incredible. It's been a long time since we had a consistent QB like this. Even Rypien and Hedrick, both great QBs, would both meltdown and throw 3-4 INT's in a game once a year. Bachmeier and Green were completely inconsistent.

This last game made a particular Madsen flaws obvious. When he drops back to pass he ignores his left side. On two particular playes Jeanty went into the flats on the left and Madsen completely ignored him.

"flaws" ? You mentioned one, which can be addressed as simply as his coach telling him "Hey make sure to look left more..." What else you got?
