That mic stand Axl uses in the beginning of the song is the same style mic stand Freddie Mercury famously used at Live Aid. Axl is a HUGE Freddie Mercury (& Elton John) fan. Axl, Elton & the surviving members of Queen performed Bohemian Rhapsody together at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium, April 20 1992, five months after Freddie’s death. The performance is legendary. One of the best I’ve ever seen.

Axl's real name is William Bruce Rose Jr. and Slash's is Saul Hudson. I've never met a Slash but I know someone who named their kid Axel (not inspired by Axl Rose, funny enough). And when I was at Costco today, I overheard someone referring to their kid as Axl lol.

Axl and Izzy were friends before the band, then Slash joined and we can say they were friends but probably somewhere when the band broke they were not friends anymore for almost 2 decades. Thanks for the video, it reminded me the times when i watched this non stop on VHS before going to school and then in DVD

Hi Maddy, being a songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist myself and playing in rock bands back in the 80's and 90's, having musician friends with a few of them being fortunate enough to get signed to major record labels, these were great times. And what you said about if it was Slash and Axl's choice to come out on stage with Slash with no shirt and Axl in shorts with a jacket, I'm sure that it was their own choice. There were a lot of wild bands back then and Guns N' Roses was one of them. For the most part they kinda did what they wanted. I remember watching an interview with Axl and he said: "When we go out on stage to do a show, nobody knows if I'm going to do the show, or just get pissed off and go home". lol that pretty much says it all. Awesome GnR reaction, hoping for more GnR reactions. Their live performances are always interesting (although sometimes rough. they had rightfully earned their title of "most dangerous band", all those years ago). Some people prefer the more smooth/ more cohesive versions from the albums, or their professional videos. I love both versions :) Others have clarified regarding Slash's birth name. Axl was born William Bruce Rose Jr. but he had later legally changed his name to W. Axl Rose (I believe these days he mostly uses Axl Rose, when he signs for fans, but he obviously still uses the W, in a more official capacity, such as on his website). The name Axl is from a different band Axl was in, long before GnR. Clothes wise: I am not aware of anyone being in charge of their clothes choices. I believe they are just unique. Oh, and the weird song at the very end was "My World", which is also a GnR song (for some odd reason, it is usually not ranked very high on most fans' lists, lol).

Even though I was in high school when they hit it big, and I bought all their albums, I never saw them live. Axl was a bit notorious for either putting on a great show or blowing up on the audience, based off some perceived slight and maybe even walking off the stage to not come back. I did see Slash in concert about 20 years later and it was awesome. I think he, Duff and Izzy were the most stable ones in the band. Axl was a hothead and Steven Adler got a bit too much into drugs(ended up having a stroke because of them and now has a speech impediment) and some legal troubles.

The weird music at the end, lol... I remember going out at midnight to get Use Your Illusion I & II when they were released, probably the most anticipated album drop of my lifetime, and going home and listening to the whole thing... when you got to the end, you were hit in the face with the very unexpected "My World", which was something Axl kinda did on his own, after being inspired by Nine Inch Nails and other industrial music... but yeah, "My World" is a trip, especially at 3 in the morning on a school night when you're not expecting it at all.

Slash doesn't have a stylist... but I'm sure Axl Rose did, especially in 1992 when this was filmed... By this tour for the 2 'Use your illusion' albums, Guns N' Roses went from a 5-piece hard rock band to this plus-sized juggernaut which had the 6-member Guns N' Roses (Axl Rose on vocals, Duff McKagan on bass, Slash and Gilby Clarke on guitars, Matt Sorum on drums and Dizzy Reed on keyboards) along w/ female backup singers... & an extra keyboardist ... The band had admittedly become "bloated".
