So, just to clarify, you got paid by the dump for the value of the scrap aluminum, wire, etc., right? The copper wire can fetch a nice return.

No we haven’t dropped off the aluminum or wire yet at the scrap yard. I held on to those piles in case I need to use some of them. I’ll cash those in when we’re closer to finished 👍

@@stephandmicah I don't know if it's still true, but my brother once told me you can get a better price for scrap copper if you remove the insulation.

Hey guys, following your progress. I also have an ambo, and I'm in Georgia. There are a few tools I can recommend to you to make life easier, like a cutoff wheel for your 4". Would make cuts super simple. If you're nearby, I'd be happy to donate a few things to ya.

Thank you!! Yes that's a good thought! Although we decided against adding any metal support because even with the crossmember removed it was still incredibly strong. That's the benefit of an ambulance! The box is designed to withstand a lot of damage.

First mistake news make is completely gutting an ambulance. It's way too much. And the best way to remove the decals is with a heat gun, plastic razor blades and denatured alcohol. 12+ yrs as an ambulance fleet tech/manager 😉

Lol it needed to be gutted. And we’re so glad we did! You can go back and watch our other videos, we tried that method and the eraser wheel worked much better for us!

@@stephandmicah when I was building a bus, I followed a couple, that went all in, and had a pretty big channel, following their build. They ran into a wall, with working full time, working on the bus, and editing. It's easy to do.. My advice? Just remember why you started, and, take your time.
