Thanks for the concise yet comprehensive review. For an audiophile like me with audio equipment that costs more than midrange cars, this one is definitely a no-brainer even though I already own and am quite happy with the EQ and the H95 for my mobile needs. It seems the EX addresses most of the shortcomings of the EQ - comfort/size, touch controls, waterproofing, and the bass/volume in the sound quality area. I don't need the EX but I want and will get the Black Anthracite as soon as it becomes available. Keep up the great work with your reviews. You cover everything and get to the point in well less than half the time of other reviews and that is much appreciated.

How do you find MTW3 compared with the EQ and PI7?

Couldn't agree more (I've got the same setup with the H95 and EQ). The EQ's sound great but the comfort is maybe 9/10 and they tend to slip out when walking. Yesterday I picked up the EX in gold (my local shop got a few delivered early and reserved me a pair). These have solved both the comfort issue as well as the tight fit issue. The sound has been elevated even more; just as described in the excellent review above. Safe to say: I 'm sure you'll agree once yours arrive :) My EQ's are now being gifted away😅

@@thechampagneexec6339 That's awesome. I didn't think the EQ's could be beat anytime soon but knowing that something "better" has come along from B&O makes this decision much easier. I've tried lots of different headphones (audiophile wired over-ears through expensive DACs and headphone amps, wireless ANC over-ears, and ANC earbuds and I really love the signature B&O sound. The B&O "tuning", "voicing" or whatever you want to call it, to me, is the best I've heard. The B&O sound has the ideal tonal balance as well as the soundstage and clarity that, to me, covers all musical genres equally well. Yes, if I want to listen "seriously" chained to my chair and desk, I'll fire up my expensive DACs and amps from Chord Electronics driving my uber expensive headphones from Abyss, Hifiman, and RAAL but, honestly, I'm just as happy listening through B&O H95 and EQ's because I can take great sound anywhere. It seems the EX's will take mobility and great sound to another level. Can't wait!

I just got these EX bad boys and already own the EQ. And I have to say.. these sound INCREDIBLY INSANE 😱 not only is it louder, but the bass is brutal and soundstage is so much deeper and fuller!! Comfort is far superior to the EQ. So light that I can’t even feel them in my ears. I was just jogging around and no signs of movement whatsoever! The pictures don’t do justice, because these look STUNNING in real life 🔥

Man i will never buy another pair of Sennheiser momentum TW.. had the first ones and first set stop working in 3 months. Then i got them replaced and the second set stopped working in just over a month.. i returned the second pair and got my money back and ordered the WF-1000XM3 to replace them.. 💯💯 more reliable and only just started playing up 2.5years later and they have been used alot everyday for 7hrs per day or so

EX or Mw08 sport for someone like me who likes a warmer smoother sound? No EQ on mw08s is what's making me lean towards the BO because atleast if it's too bright I can easily tone it down. I dislike the V curve sound signature but I do like a good dose of tight punchy clean bass.

MW08 sport are really good if you need something loud and with punchy bass. They are the only V-Curved earbuds that I have tested that does not make the sound muddy. EXs are great if you prefer warmer sound. But are not going to be loud or as punchy as the MW08 sport

Now seeing as you and I have very similar taste in sound and music I would love your feedback on how these compare to the best of the rest out there (ie: The MW08 Sport, The Sennheiser MTW3, The B&W Pi7, The B&O EQ, The Technics AZ-60, etc.) Please let me know as soon as you possibly can as I'm between all of these for my next set of BT buds since I lost all of my other ones smh. Thanks for feedback mate. The EX is the best of the lot no questions if you are into music with complexity. Super clean frequency separation and accuracy. And this new driver definitely makes them more louder and gives a thumpier bass, but in this area the MW08 sport is better as they have a bigger driver. However for rock and alternative genre EX will be better

@@R3ALRICO i reckon the M@08 sport will be around 10-20% more louder and will have a more kick on the bass than the rest given the size of their driver is around 12 mm. I have not tried the Az 60 so i dont know about that. However, the Mw08 sport does not have a graphic EQ. So you cant do much with what you get.

hey they EX will be good for fit. These come with a pair of comply ear-tips. basically they are memory foams which are designed to go inside the ear canals and expand to give an even more tighter fit. I think if you can test it out before that will be best. But these comply ear-tips helped me a lot.

I have tried this one and found that the volume is too low no matter which song I choose. I have to turn it up to 70% so that the volume can be equal to other products, such as sony xm 4. Is it normal for a B&O tws?

The eq or ex ? Because apparently the EX is much louder and another youtuber just did a decibel test and it's max volume was much louder than xm4 112.5db vs 104db... 8.5db is a huge amount. It even beat the liberty three pro in max volume. If you want it louder just turn it up to 100 percent, it doesn't matter how it compares at 70 percent. @@emalior5000 Hi, yes I mean EX and I've watched that video as well. Much to my surprise, the max volume is much higher than XM4 according to that video. I believe the result came up with turning up both to max volume (100%). I'm just not quite sure if it is just me or anyone who needs to turn up EX volume up to 70% while listening to songs.

Yeah, calls are prioritised. So if your phone is nearby then the earbuds will switch over to the phone so that you can continue the call

Should I buy these or Bowers and Wilkins Pi17? I use Sony WF4 for work and they're pretty great but I heard there are better earbuds for sound quality. Get the EX. I bought the PI7 when they were first released last year but sent them back because their signature sound was too muddy. EX signature sound is like Evian bottled water: clean

yeah i agree with Star Boy too. PI7 has a V-Curve which means the bass can overpower the other frequencies. Unless you listen to EDM and hip hop mostly I would steer clear of the PI7

changing between modes will not pause music. There are controls on the app to toggle between ANC and transparency mode also you can do that by tapping on the earbuds. And when restarted, it will start from its last position. So it will not default back to ANC

@@TechKnowBiz Thanks for letting me know. The minor annoyance for me from the EQ was it always defaulted to ANC when they connect. I’ll always need to toggle through the modes to neutral (in quieter conditions or just to save on battery life). This sounds great in that case.

hey mate i do test the onboard mics for calls on reviews. I use the app called Filmic Pro on my iPhone and use the AAC codec to record the audio output from the earbud's mics. While I understand its not exactly the same as using them on zoom from a windows laptop, but this should atleast give you and idea of how well the mics are able to isolate voice from the noise. @Tony: I do not own either pair, but based on the many reviews I have watched on the air pods and their eco system with the apple products, I hardly believe you are going to get the same experience with the B&O buds, or any other ear bud for that matter. But if sound quality is what you are after, then the B&O ex will not disappoint you, they are with the B&O eq likely the best sounding ear buds around. Hope this helps.

I'm audiophile with headphones like the Abyss AB-1266 Phi TC and TOTL Chord DACs and stuff like that but you are chained to the desk with systems like this. The purpose of high-end ANC earbuds like this is to approach that type of sound quality while moving about or working out in a gym or running, etc. The B&O EQ did that for me and it seems the EX takes it up another notch. I also have the B&O H95 for travel and they do sound better with better ANC but over-ears just aren't practical for most outdoor usage cases. I'll definitely get the EX as soon as the Black Anthracite color is available.

@@yare.yare.daze17 I can't say I've tried every high-end ANC earbud out there but I've tried a decent number and the EX really stood out in terms of sound quality. The soundstage is broad and deep. The level of detail surpasses any other earbuds I've tried. The bass is bigger, punchier, and more pronounced than on the EQ, which I also had and enjoyed for quite a while. The EX is definitely more comfortable than the EQ and stays in place. I'd highly recommend getting the Comply foam tips for even more comfort and better noise isolation because the ANC on the EX is good but not great. I do think the EX's weakness is the battery. It seems to have degraded faster than I expected or compared to other earbuds. Also, I used to have BT connection issues that would flare up every now and then for no reason but that seems to be fixed now with firmware updates. B&O's hardware and industrial design are excellent but software is definitely not their strength. Overall, I recommend the EX if you really care about the best sound quality possible in a pair of ANC earbuds. I've been using the AirPods Pro 2 a lot recently and the sound quality doesn't compare to the EX but is just more convenient to use and switch between all my Apple devices, including the Apple Watch Ultra for running and gym workouts.

EX have a balanced sound profile. So it will sound good for all genres. But if you are after a lot of bass then I would recommend a bass boosted earbud. But they could make the sound muddy so there is that. EX however is very accurate and will be very pleasing to the ears no matter the Genre
