They should have at least gone with a slightly more aggressive tune to give it a power bump. Plenty of these rolling around with another 100nm+ reliably after a generic tune. Reckon they could have got that done without much of a hit to their warranty budget.

I saw another test the dmax is quicker 0-100 than the hilux even though on paper the lux has more power at the flywheel. Power to the wheels is similar in both. Im sure they can tune this easily as i heard some tuning specialist with moderate tuning upgrade can get over 500nm at the wheels without upgrading the transmission unlike some other brands.

No sensible person should spend that sort of money to buy a vehicle in 2024 with rear drum brakes. This isn't 1995, although the Nissan Patrol had 4 wheel disc brakes in 1995. A few stickers and a few electronic gadgets don't make up for cheap corner cutting design and engineering. This ute is under done and way, way overpriced.

Several journos may have. But the price is $76,990 drive-away and that’s a whole lot more than the X-Terrain. But to be fair, this is a much more accomplished thing than the XT
