Good to see you back. I understand about the house renovations. Always takes twice as long and costs 3 times what you budgeted for. Love that morning light on the grasses and that old kiln.

I just came across this channel, and after watching just this one video I am hooked. Your winter colors are very different from ours here in Norway, and I love how you were able to really make the colors pop with Velvia, and I like your interesting compositions.

Thankyou Espen very happy you like my video and delighted it’s reaching you out there. Reminds me I must get back out to Lofoten again once this Covid thing has passed by

Brilliant video - I just had my birthday too : ) I treated myself to my first "proper" digital. It's an older Fuji camera (Film is quite expensive to develop where I live, and I'm very much still learning, so the simulations seem like a good compromise ) and I'm loving watching your videos, they're very calming and interesting. I feel like I'm picking up compositional tips without thinking too haha. Happy belated birthday! - Lewie

Thanks Lewie it’s great to know you’re enjoying my videos. Good luck with the Fuji, my first digital was a Fuji s2pro !,

My favourite was the lime kiln It's crazy stuff velvia 50 , how it boosts the saturation and contrast. I have a few rolls in the fridge, I must use them again sometime soon . I m starting to think I prefer the more subtle look of portra 160 , plus it's so much more forgiving, but yea when velvia shines it is special . I do think it almost looks too digital sometimes?
@LeePengellyPhotography2 жыл бұрын
I use provia quite a bit, a lot less saturated and great for low light work. Velvia does have a tendency to look over cooked sometimes especially with a polariser
@AustenGoldsmithPhotography2 жыл бұрын
@@LeePengellyPhotography Actually I just checked my stash , I seem to have more provia than velvia (fortunately) I also found 8 rolls of fuji pro 400 H , I wish I had less off it ! its weird stuff , turns seascapes into wired green looking images
@neilpiper98893 жыл бұрын
I find Provia has more latitude but Velvia has nice colour.
@LeePengellyPhotography3 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree, Provia is nice for greens and blues but Velvia is great for sunrise and sunsets and autumn colours

Lee.. Question..... Is medium format going away?.... Is digital The only way to go?
@LeePengellyPhotography3 жыл бұрын
No definitely not in my opinion. I think it’s like most things, if you get caught up in the modern way of thinking that you’re technology is out of date as soon as you buy it the huge companies out there have you trapped !. All cameras are just light tight boxes at the end of the day. It’s the lenses that are more important and above all it’s your own vision. Technically the bigger the negative or sensor the better quality the image as it needs less enlargement. The whole digital vs film debate is nonsense, you can’t compare the two as they are completely different mediums. Shoot film with a film mentality and use digital as a tool to create what you want and you won’t go far wrong. I think most people make the mistake of trying to make film images look like perfect digital captures but it’s nigh on impossible.

Lee appreciate your thoughts on the matter... I believe you hit the nail on the head a lot of it is marketing. Well will be praying that your "LOCK DOWN"... COMES TO A END SOON. Have a great evening 😀👍🇺🇸
