Royal Enfield is reputed to have started production in the UK in 1901, 123 years ago! I'm having a look at fitting something from 1901 to my Classic Reborn to give it a bit of that 'century old' feel......
Bonus monetary content......sorry for the digression

Hi Glyn and thank you for the video. As a fellow 350 Classic rider I’ve flicked with interest through a few of your vids in the past, but just didn’t ‘get it’. So I figured that if you’ve gone to all that time and effort in the production of such good quality vids, then the least I can do is sit and watch one for it’s entirety. And now I have, I ‘get it’ (I think). I prefer to keep my bike in stock condition and to see restorations where bikes are returned to their original condition as opposed to preserving age related patina. But we’re all different, which makes the world a far more interesting place. The history of the coins. The brass plumbing pannier fittings. The leather straps. Priceless👍 And what you said re cruising at 55mph and then down to 25mph. I get it. Can’t explain it. But I definitely get it. Keep up the good work👍🏍👍

That was a wonderful segue into the world of old coins. Fascinating! I love the interaction as you work .. "Don't worry" and the general feeling of "they're going to think I've lost the plot". So funny and so human!

What a treat, speeded up coin sorting and polishing, it's all too exciting. Always had stacks of tobacco tins in the workshop, full of end mills and lathe tools, bits and bobs or odds and ends. Now it's small drills for DIY stuff. Bertie with a strap on, ooher, I'm in shock🤣

Brilliant ideas Glyn, I really like them. I don’t suppose you came across a 1933 penny! They’re worth a fortune 😃. It’s amazing how many sayings with the word penny were around when I was growing up……”penny for your thoughts”, “I need to spend a penny” etc 😂. Keep up the good work 👍

Turned out nice again! Brilliant stuff, have tins of old coins including a gold block tin just like that. Interesting how money used to have the physical value of metal, then became a promise and has now become notional ( digital ) 😳 whatever next......keep up the good work 😁👍

Very nice ant interesting informative video. You fire up my fantazy and i see in front of my eyes a hammered cupre band instead of that leather belt on the frond headlamp, maybe a bit antiquized with a proper solution. Maybe i"m exageratind , 😊 but, in my opinion even the signing lamp corps i'll better if are from hammered cupre, are people who make all kind of things from cupre by hammering after softeninig it , and the final product are "hardened", in just the opposite process than steel need. Cooling in water is softening, heating and let it cooling down slowly is the hardening. Man , what a blank canvas have you there!😊👍 Wait the next video.Cheer's!

Thank you! Yes, that is a good idea! I'll have a look at some brass or copper and see if I could make a ring for the headlight maybe. I love the way brass and copper ages / corrodes, like a living thing almost. Thanks for watching and commenting🙏

It would, it's a very under used symbol, or so over used that no one sees it any more. I think the last British coin it appeared on was the 2007 50 pence piece. The royal mint has some lovely bits and bobs with it on though. The mint is only a few miles away, perhaps a run out is in order!
