She knows better than most about how the Abyss works, and what fate may befall those who challenge it, so she always treats her subordinates as if they are chess pieces and have no mercy for them. It's her way of telling them that her 'no mercy' is mercy, to prep them for the true cruelty of the Abyss. I wouldn't be smiling brightly as her subordinate if she truly wasn't kind, and even though she really did almost kill Riko and Reg, she's right. If they couldn't get past her, they wouldn't make it far. Better to be killed by her than to face horrors worse than death if you don't have the will.

Damn I love this character. How she introduces some of the darker aspects of the Abyss in the higher levels, sort of sets the tone for the madness of Bondrewd and the lower levels. Giving you an inkling into what to expect but then pushing it further. Also her quirks are just fun to watch. How cruel she is, how unnatural she has become. Or just the back. One minute she’s looming hunchbacked over you the next she’s towering at her full height.
