Wonderful. I'm from Sheffield a bit further up. But I fell in love with Liverpool, and visit this beautiful city and people. There is a happy vibe about the place. Always in my heart.

My schoolmate mark phythian was the teaboy, trainee in amazon studios in 1983. He made a fortune doing session keyboards etc. He's now a famous record producer. He won a award for Coldplay

@@davidroberts6549 No Holt Comprehensive Childwall, Liverpool. He drank in the Halfway House occasionally. If you Google his name, add musician. All his credits come up. Remember him as a very modest, quite guy. It was thought he was the cleverest kid in our year

@@jazztheglass6139 I defo know the name. I used to know ( and play with ) a few bands around town in the mid/late 80's and I'm thinking that Mark was friends with Mike Badger ( the La's / Onset ), who I hung around with in those days.

@@davidroberts6549 never knew that. His name is pretty unusual. I've never bumped into any one else called Phythian. What was pretty funny I remember. In 1982 he was doing regular session work, probably keyboards and other bits and pieces in Amazon Studio. He was getting £20 a hour, big money in 1982

Correct me if I'm wrong but school leavers from the mid-80's onwards were forced onto Youth Opportunity Programs and Youth Training Schemes. The government paid us 15 quid for a 40 hour week and local businesses got a steady stream of free manual workers.

Naughty boy Frank .... my dad worked there for a short spell around that time as a driver, they used to have a couple of large furniture removal type lorries, painted cream and red with a huge rising sun logo on the sides.
