His homes were never what would be considered affordable for the common man. Price comparisons of his Usonian homes to regular homes of the same era, of equal or greater square footage are always higher, had less common amenities, and really did not stand the test of time. Some of the comments from owners…freezing, damp, leaking roofs etc. Very modern considering their age, but often poorly engineered.
