Made It Back To Florida

I had the best vacation! But it's time to go home! I made it back to Florida. Thanks to all the friendly and beautiful people of Barbados.

I had to leave Barbados in 1961 to make something of a life for myself; memories are bittersweet and they say distance lends enchantment to the view. There is no home for me to return to and like many many Bajans in the diaspora scattered all over this tiny, precious Blue Planet,we carry what was best and is best about Barbados in our heats and minds , what I think, is what you have Tina our righteous open-hearted purposeful character.

Davidmiles, If you were born in Barbados it will always be your home, maybe your family is no longer there, but people from your childhood growing up may still be around. Listen even if you don't know anyone and have to make friends all over again it's still a fantastic place to visit.

Dear Tina You are my Bajan Sister and a true patriot showing all and sundry in West Palm, the righteous and kind way to treat one another. I would love to return to my homeland where my nearest and dearest rest in the St Georges's Parish cemetery but for the past almost fifty years, I have been given a New Life in Scotland where with Marion my better half, we have raised up three wonderful persons two in the NHS, a pharmacist in Glasgow and the other a Speech and Language therapist in Dundee, the son is in the Merchant Navy and brought home last month his partner a young lady from Thailand, like Bajans they like cooking with peppers; and I couldn't at this stage pack up and return and if I did I would end being a burden eventually on the tiny Republic of Barbados,so in the meantime I will continue to subscribe to your brilliant channel.
