I’m lowkey glad I started my loc journey at the beginning of quarantine and went through most of my awkward phase indoors and out of the public eye lol now that I’m almost 2 years in, my confidence has gotten a lot better. I’m not the type to do retwists often, so I let my roots be frizzy. Even at work. Not gonna lie, the frizz is a big hurdle to embrace for me but I’m sticking with it. I know that it’ll be all worth it in the end, when my locs are swinging down my back lol

i'm almost 14 months in and i've worn my locs down since the beginning, i've just always felt so free with it. however for me what was more challenging was becoming comfortable with rocking my locs un-retwisted. it was harder in the 6-9 month stages for me but now i honestly love my hair unretwisted (it usually is since i wash every other week usually) and i'm really excited for the summer and going to the beach without a care. what also has been challenging was waiting for my locs to grow out in some places lol. i was defintely rocking an assymetrical bob for months 10-12 bc the front/sides of my hair grow so fast hahah but what's great is growing in love, beauty, and confidence with every phase

Thank you so much for sharing this!! I think sometimes I get caught up in feeling alone when it comes to being at certain stages of this loc journey. With my last set I definitely wore my hair as is much more often so it feels good to get back into that and really just appreciate whatever my locs want to do! I definitely have uneven locs which bothered me way more before than now, thankfully! But I know for sure once my hair gets to a certain length I'm giving myself an even cut 😭

Just made my 7 months March 2nd!! Im so happy with them and even more excited for my future loc journey. these periods of growth and transformation have really allowed me to appreciate my hair in its absolute natural state. I also have just one unique loc in the back thats longer than the others 🤣i made sure to decorate it so it stands out lol you're locs look beautiful, Des 🥰💖

i’m 5 months in. i started my locs on november 1st and it’s been a roller coaster but more positive than negative. sometimes i don’t feel confident enough with my locs.. but it’s a mindset more so than a physical thing😭ur locs are so beautiful

July will be 2 years loc. I've never had a style or had my locs professionally done bc my head (scalp) is so tender. I learned parting, retwist, ect from watching your videos. When I was a loose natural I always wore ponytails so tight it caused damage pulled the sides of my edges. I started locs to always wear my hair down freely..... I thank God for this transition it's save me so much money and I got my edges back. I get people always saying my locs are beautiful. It took a minute for m to feel beautiful but when they started forming and growing I started to Glo up.....🤗

Of course they will loc! Truthfully anyones hair can loc up. As long as you're not combing your hair, it will loc :) If you have a looser texture it can take a bit longer compared to a tight coily texture

Don't let others affect your confidence. If your happy with yourself, then that's it. No one else's opinion matters. Go rock your locs in confidence and peace. Your not everyone, your yourself, and no one else is gonna live your life, so live it the way you want. 😁👍🏾
