With a dog, cat and hubby in the house there are often interruptions and I miss a stitch and don't notice it. Knowing the expected count helps me see I need to go back and double check.

@@julia5511 i used about 1 and a half skeins of textil/ ribbon yarn. I don’t think you would need more than 2 skeins. the ones i have are the hobbi brand ribbon yarn. good luck!!

I watched a tutorial right before this for a bookmark with talking and it was horrible with key points glossed over and all, and I even had to make adjustments to how it's stitched. Then I clicked on this tutorial because I'm also interested in making purses and totes and, without words, this was far better at teaching and not one detail is excluded. Nice job on teaching us how to do this, and thanks. I will certainly make this bag in the future.

i have made the bag and it has turned out quite well for a first try. thank you very much for a very easy to follow pattern. great video. what i want to do now is add a lining and zipper to the bag but all the videos i can see about that show that the zipper closing the bag at the very top but the design of your bag doesn't allow for a zipper to be added to the top (handle areas). have you or has anyone reading added a lining and zipper; if so, can explain how you did that please? thanks very much!!
