Hope you do more videos like this because it helps shed light on the various ways you can make mistakes. I think the hardest thing about home cooking especially for those who dont have solid background in cooking like me is that its very difficult to figure out where we make mistakes or how we can fine tune certain things to make the end product better.

Really enjoyable to be honest. The format is fun and the small comments here and there gives more depth but also keeps it interesting. Would like to see more👍

Love to see this type of video! Always learning and growing. I do the same when I look at code I wrote from years ago like “why’d I write it that way” 😂 but that was the way for the me at that time.

Nice scallion soup!! 😂 At least you can look back on this and see how much you've grown. It's also a good way for new chefs to see what NOT to do, so thanks for this. As an aside - love not having to deal with all of the negativity from the "what my boyfriend chef cooked for himself after an 18-hour shift" format. That was brutal.

Just discovered your videos, and am really liking them. You and Jasmine make a lovely couple, and I’m happy that you manage to make your different schedules work. As a soba lover and a pretty good cook this particular video is really valuable because in 50 years of eating Japanese food I’ve never tried to make dashi at home. 😂 I hope you’re enjoying your time at Restaurant Yuu. Chef Yuu is an acquaintance from his previous restaurant, and I’m so pleased that he’s doing well. Next time I’m there I’ll make sure to say hello.

This is a great format. Maybe try a PoV style set up to make filming easier? Like what Kenji does
