Hi Guys. A lot of you write about the continuous work of this set, but I haven't mentioned it anywhere. This will be used in a cycle of 10 seconds on, 5 minutes off, so no worries. Some of you may ask "why didn't you buy a hydraulic power pack on ebay?" It is because I wanted to see if it is possible to make such a set and if it will work, and learn more about power hydraulics :)

here, a safety valve is also needed to avoid overload at idle and a damper between the hydraulic pump and the engine, since this pump has no bearings, and the aluminum bushings quickly break if the drive is poorly aligned with the pump. I agree with what others have said about having a switch activate the pump when the lever is moved, would simplify things a bit. Also, you should incorporate a pressure relief valve. This will prevent stalling of the pump and motor when situations arise that could do so, such as when the ram hits end of travel, or load is too high for the system.

Like the setup but be interested to know in how long the starter will last and under how much load it cooks the brushes or solenoid, only as i have never had much luck using them for projects like this as they tend to burn out due to large amp draw. It is actually people like yourself who make others think outside the box so thanks :)
@oh8wingman2 жыл бұрын
Most automotive starters have what is called a 5 and 5 duty cycle. It simply means that you can run for a maximum of 5 seconds and then 5 seconds off. If you extend the run time to say 10 seconds and the cool time left at 5 seconds, it would last significantly shorter and it would still burn out prematurely against normal usage. This is due to the fact that these motors have no provision for cooling. If you were to place the motor in a container that would hold dry ice, the cooling effect would make the motor last much longer.
