@@ValeryHill-x4d Good point. I asked Copilot and it said this: In the old days, the **basket sleds** (or "carros de cesto") were actually pulled back up the hill by donkeys. The baskets were designed to be lightweight and easy to maneuver, so donkeys could handle the task quite efficiently. It was a practical solution for the residents of Monte to get back up the steep hill after a day in Funchal.

To be honest, I find videos that do that a bit boring. All the local bus rides are €2 and I can't remember the prices of the gardens and cable car but they all have their own websites.

Well.... It's not really a beach holiday place, people go to enjoy the mountains, plants, the scenery, hiking etc. So not exactly Ibiza or Tenerife if you know what I mean. For a more 'gentle' holiday perhaps.

@@PetraHalPet We'd almost certainly have died! I had to push the brake pedal as hard as I could to stop, and that was when I was going slowly! Brilliant idea though 🤣
