I can't wait for JBC to put that on my truck!! They did my front end on my 1949 chevy truck in January this year. The brothers know what they're doing. Thank guys!

Great job! Thanks for sharing. It helped out with my argument with the wife when I said "You see! I can do it at home as well" She did point out how nice your wood/iron gate is. Now I have to build one before I get started with my notch

i learned the hard way i bagged a 2 link on a 66 impala wagon 15 years ago before every one made parts for these it road bad the pinion angle changed so much during its range of motion that you couldnt drive slammend had no side play and the drive wheel would come off of the ground on uneven ground. all are inherent issues with doing it this way
@realbigveggie12 жыл бұрын
I see the two bolts under the axle holding it straight now. As long as its mostly driven where the pinion angle is set up correctly a 2 link works.

What about the driveshaft? 1 piece or 2? Do you have to cut the cross member for the driveshaft?

What size bolts do you guys use on the front bushings to mount the bars. The biggest bushing and bushing sleeve combo Ive found to use when I build it uses a 9/16" bolt. Buildind a full size silverado and it just seems like thats a lot of weight for that size bolt.

do you know you should have a straight panhard bar? If there is a bend in it, that is a very weak piont, causing your diff to move side to side

I am doing some homework and I am writing to see what your opinion is of using bags on all four corners plus coil overs. Would you use coil overs or just gas shocks as you did in this video
@S2RDFW12 жыл бұрын
Quite a bit of list? LOL I disagree. slam specialty bags double and triple puck bags have way more lift. I would not drive it that low. But it does lay down nice and your work is very clean. great video. ;o)

What year of Ford truck do you go up to for your 2 link suspension
@aaronstone339210 жыл бұрын
I'm just curious.I've seen this on a lot of linked trucks.What is the purpose of using the stock shocks?Wouldn't these slow the travel of the rear end?I mean the faster the travel,the better the setup.I don't get it.Why not use 4 bags instead of only 2.Any recommendations on brands of bags?
@zososldier8 жыл бұрын
+Aaron Stone i know it's late but i guess i could answer some of these questions. #1 - if it isnt a "race truck" or performance oriented you can use stock shocks just fine. as long as the shock is rated for the travel and weight of the vehicle. you can add performance or adjustable shocks but this should not be the only thing you use to adjust your ride quality or performance. type of link system and location of your bags will play a much bigger role in performance over a shock. #2 - By "a faster traveling suspension" i suppose you are referring to the fill rate. this is controlled by the size of lines, fittings, and valves. this is completely cosmetic. some like it to bounce up and slam down where others like the slower softer lift and lower. i personally started out with a truck running double 1/2 inch lines and valves which would cause the truck to get off the ground about 5 inches with 200 psi but it would violently slam down and all the space in between was terribly hard to adjust. as a got tired of this i moved to single 1/2 with a dump control. i have found that for my taste i prefer 1/4 line and valves for all 4 corners for a smooth and easy lift and lower. #3 - 4 bags on the rear would make the suspension far to stiff like driving around in a truck with super stiff towing springs. most air bags have a higher weight handling rate than your average mid-sized truck stock suspension so 2 is plenty for a cruiser. Also, having 4 bags in the rear would double the amount of air used to inflate which means your compressor is running more often leading to earlier ware. #4 - as long as you stick with name brand you will do fine. stay away from ones that don't have a warranty or name stamped on them. After that there are a lot of different opinions on which is a better air bag. i personally prefer slam specialties because they use a stiffer and thicker rubber which reduced ballooning and makes a more responsive ride rather than the thinner bags which can cause the vehicle to wallow or flout. slam bags also get ALOT of lift compared to same size bags of other brands. i dont recommend using these sleeve bags because they rub on themselves when collapsed which will cause a hole. (many stock cars use these kinds of bags on the rear such as navigators, Cadillac, etc and they all seem to go bad). reputable brands for bags would be contitech, slam specialties, firestone, air lift, and ride tech. im sure there are more out there but those are the ones i know off the top of my head. Hope that helped.

@j.danaclark899 жыл бұрын
beautiful, great job, but one technical note...that's a 3 link, not a 2 link, least ways according to the training I received getting my journey man's papers.
@zososldier7 жыл бұрын
In all car culture, they don't count the panhard as a link. I find it kind of annoying but everyone does it. 3 link offroad front ends still call it a 3 link even though it has a panhard. A parallel 4 link like drag cars use in the back still don't count a panhard. And old stock suspension like on these trucks still call it a 2 link even though there is a panhard.

THE AXLE IS WELDED TO THE PERCHES WE MAKE . MUCH BETTER THEN FACTORY DID IN THE 60S WITH U BOLTS.
do you have a one piece driveshaft or did you make a joint after the crossmember?... I saw than i have the same trouble conecting my 4 links so low. The center height of the rear axle is upper than the transmission center... please help me
Hey great video. question if I cnotch the frame (not monster notch) can my 57 chevy pickup go as low as this one on the video. I want to be able to use the bed the way it is. thanks
Could I possibly use this 2 link on a 93 c1500 shortbed ?
@CainJimenez13 жыл бұрын
CHEVY USED A SINGLE U BOLT PER SIDE ON THEIR 2 LINK SYSTEM. OURS IS WELDED, NO I HAVE NOT TRIED PUTTING MORE THEN 600 H.P. BUT IT SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM. MOST OF OUR CUSTOMERS CUSTOMS, LOWRIDERS AND STREET RODS. IF YOU WANT TO DRAG RACE I SUGGEST A 4 LINK.WE DO HAVE A YOU TUBE VID OF 2 LINKK WORKING WITH UNDER CAR CAMERA VIEW. THANKS FOR THE TIME.
Do you sell this for a 92 Toyota pickup I'm needing a bridge kit I'm running behind the axle bag mounts?.. will this set up work with a bridge kit
@tylermclaren371911 жыл бұрын
This isnt a terrible design just not ideal. My buddy has been rocking a 2 link for 6 years and its fine if you drive at the same height all the time on the highway. However, if your going to go to this kinda work just do a 4 link, it will keep the pinion angle more consistent.

Jimenez Bros Customs if I had a truck similar weight and wheel base of 115 inches where as a53 Chevy has a 116 inch wheel base with a similar frame shape could I use your kit on an IH r series pick up .
Thanks dude for making this video the dude who had the truck before me I don’t think he knew what the fuck he was doing every video I see the bags are at the axle or behind it the bags I got it on the truck are about a foot or foot and a half in front of the axle which makes no damn sense to me. Right dude I’m gonna be doing some modifications👍
not sure what his problem is. bagging that is no different than bagging any thing else. when the bags get old and fail it will just sit on the bump stops so if your lowest hits the ground your stuck but that is the same with any other bagged suspension. im doing and IRS and i plan to go bags on all 4 corners. i accept the inevitable blown bag issue.
Why a Panhard rod? - why not a Watts link to keep the diff centered through its range? As for the boys whinging about torque roll etc - even I can see the ginormous sway control bar!!
