I have been STRUGGLING with my belts for the longest time. I know I have the range but I never knew how to properly use it without feeling tight and strained. This was AMAZING it totally changed the game

Is it ok to go slightly into mixed voice? I notice after G I can no longer stay in full chest voice - is this ok? Is this still considered belting?

The “yeah’s” is what one of my teachers used call “singing thru the mask”, meaning the sinus cavity, and you can literally feel it buzz. When you add in the AH’s she would tell me to imagine the sound coming thru my top teeth. This is a great description of exactly that! Love it!

I used to belt consistently for years then I started singing much more softly the past few years and recently I've been trying to get back to belting like I used to and trying to remember how to belt "properly" and how it's suppose to feel (not hurt or feel strained) and I have been struggling. You explain everything SO well and I already feel everything (in my throat, head, chest) coming back - the exercises are easy to follow and I already feel such a huge difference and more control. Thank you SO much! I'm excited to get back in the studio now and feeling much more confident with my approach using your techniques - you are amazing! ❤🔥✨

Hey Madeleine! Love your style of teaching. I have been watching all of your lessons starting from the oldest and I have been learning a lot. I was hoping you could do a video on how to growl(the kind of growling in your "If it Hadn't Been for Love" video). There's a lot of misinformation across platforms on how to do this and trying it out by myself feels risky cause I know if it's not done the right way, it can damage the voice. Looking forward to it

I really enjoy your videos. I studied under a great teacher Sue Harmon. Your videos take me back to her lessons. They aren't pretty arpeggios but sounds ,usually ugly, and feeling the voice placement. All my singing friends look at me crazy when I do my warm ups. But they work. Also I was a tuba player turned vocalist. I have always pressurized and run out of air fast because that is what happens when playing tuba. I need to find an in-between for breath control for long phrases. I'd love any advice. The hardest song for breath control I ever did was "Spossa son Disprezzata" attributed to Vivaldi. It was elen measures at a medium speed. It was hit and miss. Keep up the healthy singing advice. Love it!

HI Madeleine, to my understanding, we need to have a full support from the diaphragm that generate compressed air to vibrate the vocal cord for a clean, projected sound. would you please clarify and explain how it is different from this practice you are teaching us to belt? You are emphasizing the highly pressurized air when belting. Thanks a lot.
