Wow thank you. While playing around with this I just sang a F#5 without even trying. And after a bit of practice I can reach it almost every time. Before this video I was stuck at E5 for quite some time. Thank you soooo much. I'm an alto so I'm super proud of myself 😍

I totally relate to this because I have a struggle with the way I have to belt out is because I don't always have the confidence in myself to prove myself to do it that's why most people keep telling me to not be self doubting myself but my anxiety keeps kicking in

Oh my goodness! Had to come back and tell you.. This single lesson has helped me so much with sounding fuller and broke me out of shy belting. After practicing this most of today I scared myself and started laughing/ crying while dancing around after the sound I made from practicing this over and over. Im 40 years old and just last year while swaying and singing my son to sleep realized I might be better at singing than I thought. And now a year later I'm finally looking into learning more about my voice and I'm loving it and I'm loving your videos and thank you so much for what are you are doing for free because I would never be able to afford in person lessons.

Thank you so much for your excellent and concise lessons! My voice teacher recently told me that she’s never heard me sing in chest voice, and even though this lesson is about belting, I felt as if I could apply this technique while singing with a true chest voice placement. You are a wonderful teacher, and I really appreciate you!

Lovely video but I can't belt higher notes to save my life. I go to head voice and to be honest it feels soooo much smoother and pleasant in my throat - but it's not a belt. :-( It is as if at a certain point my chest voice literally just doesn't want to go any further up and there is nothing I can do about it...

exaggerate air pressure like doing heavy mouth gulping before belting live? afterwards if the belt is done halfway through concert and shes lara fabian or perrie edwards would she be breathing real hard through mouth? or just cant do belting as powerful as she could in studio? example lara fabian i will love again.

I'm not sure I'm doing the first "hold the air with B sound" exercise right. I know how to push down on my stomach (I think diaphragm). Is it the same as that? I also found one other less intense sensation right above the stomach, like kind of between stomach and chest. But not sure about that feeling. Can anyone provide any more guidance? I'm really bad about finding the right body sensations or knowing if I have it right, but I'm determined and I've been working at this for many years.

I would recommend doing diaphragm exercises to boost your support, since that's what I imagine you struggle with most. Breathwork exercises will also help. Practice holding comfortable notes (within your tessitura) for as long as you possibly can in rapid intervals. Both these tyoes of exercises are readilt available right here on KZbin. I recommend the Aussie Vocal Coach for vocal power, agility and sustenance exercises. I hope my advice helps you in some way!

Hello Madleine thanks for your great lessons. I have a question about vocal range. I think I am a mezzo as a colour of my voice, but because of my range I suppose I am a alto as I have no sound at all after a Bb5, and even at a A my sound is not consistent. Does it mean that these are my physiological limits?
@stevengrantofthegiftshop1549

Is this in head voice? If so, it may be possible that you aren't feeling head voice properly. I am a tenor and I can barely get out a B5 (I literally sound like a squeaking mouse up there). It feels like I'm forcing mixed voice higher than I should, is this what you're feeling?
