Yay for period talk! I used to not mention my period (like saying something like ”oh I’m so tired now that I’m on my period” etc) especially if guys were around but now I don’t censor myself anymore. It’s so important to break this taboo and I’m so happy that you are doing it with your platform, Maddie!

You are so right that we need to talk about and normalize periods. I have PCOS and Uterus Didelphys, or double uterus and I did not find that out until early this year. I am 42. I was always told that my very heavy and painful period was normal, but after I was put on a medication for my condition the symptoms lessened soooo much. It pissed me of, to be honest. I could have had a relatively "average" period all this time, but no. People who menstruate should shout about their periods from the rooftops!! Go Maddie!!💖💖💖

I agree that it should be a normal conversation, not something off -limits. Also, something shared with partner, esp. regarding pain and hormonal issues + later on a full conversation about menopause. Talking with my husband and teaching him about female health/ periods helped immensely when I went through menopause. I watched until the end but must have missed the emoji thingie. Love the cute puppy nose and the well hung christmas sweater :)

I would love if you could do a video talking through all the makeup you use/skincare you'd recommend/things you always repurchase! Like you I rarely wear a lot of makeup, and I also have super pale skin. But because im not tuned into beauty stuff online ive completely fallen out the loop of who is vegan/cf and who isnt these days, let alone what everyones best products are. 1. Yes, people who have periods or who used to have periods or who will have periods need to be empowered to talk about them. Silence is why those of us with uteruses have to fight SO DAMN HARD to be taken seriously about our period related pain and issues. 2. 100% agree that vegan cheese Mac and cheese is somewhat sick making. I love your cashew cheese version. So long as you've got 30 min to let some cashews soak, you've got time for that pasta. Honestly, it is kinda a midweek go-to dinner for me. I'm a teacher and theres never time for take-out work lunch, so when I run out of leftovers for lunch, I'll make mac and cheese as im guaranteed delicious leftovers. Oh, also, your Mac and cheese sauce recipe very easily transforms to nacho cheese with the addition of a splash of liquid smoke and some chili powder. Best recipe ever. I'm sure your new cookbook is full of similar gems, I can't wait for its release here in the states.

Ovulation is the worst me for now after 2 kids. It is so painful, I can feel the eggs dropping. I get way more moody , tired, sad, even harder at the gym when I ovulate than my period.

🐶 Totally agree, it’s so important to normalise tracking and talking about our periods 🙌🏼 I’m hypermobile too and apparently as progesterone increases just before our luteal phase + again 7-10 days after ovulation, our joints become even more lax than normal so we get super duper fatigued because our muscles are working doubly hard to keep our joints stable 🥴 Oh what fun! 😅 It would be lovely to see a wedding video! 👰🏻‍♀️🥂

Have you looked into Fertility Awareness Method (FAM)? It teaches you to track other physical symptoms throughout your cycle, not just period - i.e. temperature, cervical mucus and the position of your cervix. It is super insightful. I have learned so much about my body, which I found very empowering. You can also use the method to conceive or to avoid pregnancy - hormone free! ❤ It's also an excellent pointer for hormonal balance & health.

You know Madeleine, I have only just started watching you (and I've looked back on some of your older you tube videos too) and I just think you are sooooo beautiful, inside and out. Like you are pre-raphaelite level classic beauty but your personality is endearing, honest, open and caring. I feel like you care about what you say, what you do, what you promote and how you are perceived. I like you and I enjoy watching you. Alex, on the other hand....not so much. I can see Alex lives very much in your shadow, he appears in the videos but does not make an effort in them. I feel like he tries to belittle you or put you down and you may say "thats his sense of humour", "he's just really dry", "he keeps me grounded" etc etc but I feel like you are just making excuses for some toxic masculine behaviours. Alex, please big up your wife, please don't make jokes ALL the time (your not actually that funny, or it doesn't come across?), please appreciate what your wife has done for you and how you are living your best life because of her. Please show SOME appreciation (occasionally) and see what we see. Madeleine is amazing and I think you're bloody lucky to have her tbh! Can we have some support shown and not just your eccentric, stuck up British mockery? It's an incredibly normal thing for mockery of each other to be part of a relationship dynamic and I myself love that part of a relationship, it's fun.
