I agree 200% about everything you have said 20 items in a home that you no longer use, especially the dark flooring and wool rugs. I am a minimalist and I got rid of 80% of my possessions. I have downsized to 10x15 storage unit of my life in it. I only have 7 pieces of furniture, cookware, appliances, camping gear, little decorations, and clothing. I have realized so much stuff can add so much stress in life, consuming time for cleaning and reorganizing stuff. I am sure I have nothing in double items as cleaning products, personal cares, and so on. I keep clothes that I can interchange them in different styles. I don't need much in life. I am working on building a mezzanine house under 1,000 square feet with large windows and no walls. I like everything open and bright. Well done to your house! I am a big fan of your channel. It suits my lifestyle that I can learn from you! Thank you!

You have only 7 of each item? For all the categories you listed?

@Jules-740 7 pieces of furniture. The rest is barely minimal stuff for daily use in the kitchen and cleaning products in one caddy. I have about 25 clothes hanging in the closet. I like my place with white walls, not too much decoration. Two mountain bikes. I can rent a 16-foot Uhaul truck with all my stuff in it to move to another state easily.

@@JosephPuplava That's pretty neat! Thanks for your reply👍 I would like to downsize on my belongings. I used to live in a very small home and I pretty much lived as a minimalist by necessity since the place forced me to and I LOVED it. I didn't even know a thing about mininalism then. But every item had to have a purpose and reason for being there.

@@Jules-740 I totally agree with you. If it doesn't add value to your life, it's time to donate or give it away. I can't handle too much stuff in the house, because I will not rest. I have OCD and it will bother me.

Wool rugs are awesome. Last forever. Repels liquids. Easy to wipe or blot. Shedding stops eventually.

Glass table. Yesss! I bought a beautiful ikea table for my living room when my husband and I first lived together in Europe. It looked gorgeous in the show room. Years later I’m still waiting for the dang thing to “accidentally” break so we can get a new one. 😂 And the worse part is it’s still in one piece 9 years later after moving back to the US. I’m literally cleaning it every day. It’s dreadful!! So I highly recommend NEVER. And we don’t have kids either!

I do all of these and it does make it much easier! Well, our toilets sit on the floor. One day I'd love to change those out, but it's a big project!

The cleaning products you use, I love them! But I live in the US. They don’t seem to ship to the US do they? There was no way for me to ask them on their site. Thank you so much for your videos. They are inspiring they give me motivation. I just moved to a different state in America. And I have let go of so many things so thank you for this channel. I really appreciate it. Keep them coming.

Only disagree with the gas hob. The induction hob will crack. I don’t know how many people I know that has dropped everything from a cast iron pan to a spice container onto those hobs and have cracked it. Then kept using the hob despite all the safety warning because they can’t afford to replace it. Keep your gas hobs people!

Agree! I love my gas hob. If you clean it often it take just few minutes. Like with everything - regularity is the key

I've had gas and induction several times (we moved a lot). In our current home I've chosen induction, never going back. And they've never cracked, but are oh so easy to clean. 😊

I find that a lot of white gets so dirty. I do not have a lot of white furniture in my home because it gets stained so easily. I opted for medium gray floors and walls w/ a light grey tint and most furniture is light to medium brown, off-white, black, blue, etc. And then no white granite countertops, I love the texture w/ a mix of black and grey for stains.

I have an electric stove with a glass top but it is noooot easy to clean. I get one drop of water on the hot plate and theres immediately a hard water stain. And scrubbing with scrub daddies is not my favorite hobby. And then therea tiny stuff getting between the groove between the stove and countertop.
