Exactly Mark, there's no ready-made grammatical answer to all English. 😊 In the sentence, " Let's go out ", can 'we' be the subject? My sentence without a subject. ... " Come to our country and visit the beautiful hill-stations! " 😃😍
@MadEnglishTV
@MadEnglishTV 5 жыл бұрын
😃😃Do you live in a hill-station Mini? I don't think "we" can be the subject because then "us" would change to "ourselves". We let ourselves go out...
@russellfox2758
@russellfox2758 7 ай бұрын
There is no understood pronoun "we." The subject in, "Let's go," is (you). The speaker is asking the listener to agree that both will go somewhere. The speaker has already made the decision, so (you) are being asked to agree. Your sentence also has a subject, and it is also (you).

It’s funny, sometimes a non-native English speaker may incorrectly say “you walk with me to the park”, it’s not 100% wrong but may sound a little bossy So ..., we wouldn’t say Mark “YOU make more video lessons”, but we say: “Mark, kindly PLEASE make more videos, your English lessons are awesome”! 👍 Have a good day! 👋

In the sentence, "Let's go," the subject is, in fact, you. The speaker is telling the listener, "You let us go." It takes both the speaker and the listener to decide whether both will go somewhere, so the speaker is telling the listener to agree that both parties will go together.

Sometimes "you" is used in imperatives to make sure which listener(s) the speaker is referring to. Ex: You stay here. You come with me. In negative imperatives, "the subject" is sometimes used and comes right after the word "don't". Ex: Don't everybody move! (NOT Everybody don't move.)

i appreciate your efforts, can you make a video talking about payment methods in Canada, all details related to paying taxes, CPP, Health insurance, etc. because people coming from other less developed countries are not familiar with these details. another video idea is talking about proper way to use Credit card, Visa card, you can help a lot, because i witnesses a lot of people abusing their Visa and getting in trouble and dept they can never pay back

No, in this sentence "Let's go", the subject continue being "you" because this is a imperative. Actually "let's" is contraction of "Let us", so the full sentence would be "Let us go" -》"You let us go"..
