Yes. There is a difference when you give advice using the English language and my own language. As a new learner of English speaking, it is hard for me to speak in English especially when you don't know the right word and how to use it in the right grammar but if I am going to give a bit of advice using my own language it is really easy to say it and tell without thinking how to use it properly every word.

@neelimabharti1 Жыл бұрын
@@dalianalobotorres361 I did not buy anything I did some mock tests they help to understand the format and thats the most important thing. For writing I watched his video and did exactly the same thing. Divided the email and survey in parts as he described and added some fancy words and connectors. For speaking make a pattern in advance just like he explained otherwise it gets confusing. For reading it is really important to read and understand the text faster. I always get short on time during my reading. But get lucky I guess. For listening I have seen many videos where they tell you to make notes. But for me listening carefully is more important because while making notes sometime I miss on the recording. So this time I made notes of few facts but listened more carefully to understand it clearly. Last section requires notes taking.. To check what suits you best take some mock test on youtube. Some without taking notes and some with notes. You will understand what works better for you. Do not leave anything blank. I feel its not an English test it is a stress test. Timer on the screen gives me stress haha

Hey Mark, I took the CELPIP exam last Saturday and luckily I passed my exam! I wanna thank you for making awesome videos! I only need a CLB 5 for my PR but I got L-8, R-9, W-7, S-7. Your videos helped me a lot I only watched your videos and practiced a lot on speaking cause I noticed a lot of people scored the lowest on Speaking. I didn't really practiced much on the other modules I concentrated on the Speaking part I always set a timer and recorded my voice. I only reviewed for less than 2 weeks I said I'll be depress if I fail the exam cause I paid a lot I paid almost $400+ cause I took the express rating cause I'm in a hurry to get my score so I could submit my application for PR. My advise to everyone taking the CELPIP exam is that don't be in a hurry nor panic if you hear other examiners already on the speaking part. It's kinda hard to concentrate specially when I hear my seatmates already typing on their keyboard for the Writing and I'm still on the Reading part. And then some of them are already Speaking its really hard to concentrate I wished they had keyboards that are not so loud when you type and they should upgrade their headphones so that you cant hear other examiners voices during the Speaking part. I was really nervous I wasn't even able to sleep the day before the exam. And then I had butterflies on my stomach the whole time. I cant explain what I felt during the exam I felt sick, and sleepy and then my stomach is churning, I felt hungry, I wanna take a piss and a shit LOL. I guess its because I'm nervous and then I didn't had enough sleep and had anything to eat before my exam I only had an Ice Capp. I suggest that examiners should get some sleep and eat a lot before the exam.

I was so nervous with my listening and reading because I wasn’t so sure with my answers. I remember you said to just make a guess if you are not sure of your answer and I applied that 😁. It was not a very high score but sure enough to think that self reviewing can be fun too especially if you don’t have time because of work. Hey Mark, thanks for your great advices. I am preparing for CELPIP and having problem to fit into the given 90 seconds time frame. Usually the time is over and I'm not even half way through with my thoughts. Overthinking is my problem...but I'm working on it. Anyway to answer your question, my native language is Hungarian and I truly believe that every language have it's own way to speak. Maybe a simple sentence does make sense in English but doesn't make any sense in Hungarian and vice-versa. This is why many people having problem to learn & speak a different language because they try to translate straight from their language which sometimes just doesn't work. For example, some of the advices a Hungarian would give in a friendly situation just by translating to English could be easily considered to be rude or a bit harsh because of the difference between the two given language. The key is a lots of practice.

Since you are now a new driver and you want to buy a car...thats a good news, its been 4 yrs im driving too so based on my personal experience i can give you some useful advise. Mike you are just 17 and have finished your graduation and still you are in a learning process too. so, you should consider your budget 1st. There are so many websites you can search where you can find second hand cars at a very reasonable prices. one of them is kijiji ,i think toyota cars are not too expensive i just took a look for you yesterday,and i found some pretty awesome deals there. as you know the weather in canada is pretty cold so toyota is the best choice because it gets warm in winter very soon and you dont have to wait too long and the good thing is their services are also affordable.One more thing i want to say you please take your brother in law with you when you plan to go. He can help you in bargaining,purchasing and other process. you will have to register it and have to get insurance. Anyways good luck for your car and i hope you got some good points regarding this. Yes, I do agree with the statement that there is a difference in how we advise in English vs Hindi. We as Indians don’t only speak through our language but through gestures and emotions. There are lots of gestures involved in the explanation. These gestures could be some funny idioms in Hindi, hand movements supporting different ideas along with words that are close to the heart. When we advise in our language, we generally keep ourselves in the same position as others. We try to sympathize with another person as far as possible

hey mike AM very happy to get know you have gotten driving license and i also heard it you are going to buy buy car for self. well as a sister like to give you a advice regarding car purchase , as you know i have bought many different cars till now and first i would like to tell you that you must make budget and then start to finding car ,i think you should buy second-hand car instead new car and must be a small car which is easy to drive , and you can search second -hand car on website like Craiglist ,Kijjiji , and also should check with dealers , i think from Toyota , Honda and Nissan brand cars will be best because these car services are also affordable. keep in mind when you go to look car take someone along you , who have experienced about car sales and purchase, this wil help you to do bargaining and you can get car on good price, and must pay car price by check or something must be a proof of payment , and after bought a car you have to go to for auto-plan insurance and registration and get number plate for your car . well , i have time for you if you like to get any kind of advice , don't hesitate am just one call away.

You need to use the synonyms of the words, like car-vehicle-automobile-auto. Try to not use the same words. Also you are using a lot of "and" and the sentence is too long. Take into attention, because CELPIP giving points for your vocabulary, too.

Hi Mark, Actually you are right. there are some cultural differences in getting advice in other parts of the world. My mother tongue is Farsi and In my culture people tend to use metaphors for getting advice. For example: If someone wants to advise not to say a lie, he/she may say to you that: "don't tell a lie because the lier is the enemy of the god".
